The LEM doesn't have a single action trigger. It has a light DA trigger, and a heavy DA trigger. With the LEM trigger, the heavy double action would only be available if you needed it to perform a second strike, should the firing not set off the primer. There is no way to decock it to get that heavy pull. The moment you charge the firearm, you are set in the pre-cocked, light double action pull. What you are describing is the variant 3 DA/SA trigger, which has a decocker on the back of the slide.
@GunBoxTherapy4 жыл бұрын
You are correct and I stand corrected. I was attempting to explain it while also making sense but didn’t purposefully misinform. It is always technically a DA regardless of if it the first, second, third..etc. trigger pull. I guess the best way to put it is that it mimics the feel of a DA/SA system but incorporates the “safety net” of a DA-only system.
@AeroTimbo4 жыл бұрын
@@GunBoxTherapy That’s still not quite right. It mimics the double action trigger travel with a single action pull weight. The only way to have both a double action trigger length and heavy pull weight is when there is a misfire. Under normal circumstances this does not occur. The first trigger pull weight is identical to the subsequent ones.
@andog60922 жыл бұрын
@@GunBoxTherapy not too mention with the lem system the trigger is heavy until you chamber a round, then the striker is pre cocked, thats why you get one heavy and one light trigger pull

The first trigger pull will not be the long heavy one as you stated.
@GunBoxTherapy4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I’ve discussed this with a few other commenters and now I really have a better understanding of how it functions. The long heavy trigger pull will be the “re-strike” so long as the slide is not pulled back/reciprocated. Every trigger pull will be the same distance regardless and the same weight (lighter than the re-strike).

I was just gonna mention that myself. No way to get a cartridge in the chamber with out pre-cocking the hammer. The LEM system is awesome. I describe it to myself as a single action always trigger. The initial trigger movement is nothing. Then when the wall is reached, what an awesome trigger pull.

Love the P2000. My only annoyance with this pistol is the small gap at the top of the back strap on every P2000 and P2000SK. Every other model HK with replaceable backstraps has a panel that’s flush with the frame.

I have the LEM SK with night iron sights. It’s a nice pistol. The LEM takes a little getting used to but once you do, it’s awesome. It’s pretty much good to go out of the box. Really no modding needed. It’s actually one of the few great pistols that’s still on roster here in Ca. Most of the best have been removed because firearm companies are tired of doing business here. So many good Walthers, Sigs and S&W’s aren’t on roster. It’s a damn shame. And they disappear fast when they are on consignment. Yet another reason California has become unlivable 🤦♂️

@@GunBoxTherapy It's starting to get a little better. At least with gun selection. Back in March-July, you would walk into a gun store and see empty display cases, except for a few revolvers and expensive shotguns. Now, when I check online at my gun store, I am seeing more of the popular guns like Glock, XD9, M&P9, more affordable shotguns, etc. It's still hard to find HK guns though. They might get a few every couple months. You are lucky you were able to get a P2000. That would have been my first choice. There is no usp s, but if you are comparing the usp to the p2000, the usp compact or full size is far better. The usp is designed around the 40+p round. Standard ammo in 9mm, 40, or 45 and the gun will run forever, some have gone up to 400,000 rounds. P2000 still reliable, but not well built and not rated for plus p ammo.

.40 is going to always have more recoil than 9mm. And considering these are subcompacts they are going to have more recoil anyway. So if recoil control is an issue, go with the 9. You won’t be disappointed. This is an exceptional pistol. It is pricey for the LEM version with night iron sights. About $800-$900.
