@FlatulEssence yes!! didn't understand that because if theres one woofer that means its 8 ohms.. i was confused. But this is good because it gives out more power for your amps since its rated at 4 ohms.. so more watts for me. I use a qsc amp to powert them.. 600watts in 8 ohms and 900watts in 4 ohms.. and you get more power for your sub and amp.. so if you got a amp already.. these would be a good choice.

@djteknovibe 1)again.. these are two different classes. Yes you can save and get an srx.. just like people can save to get a lexus instead of a toyota. As SRX models are more put forward for sound and concert specialist and not the ideal for real working mobile use. Also as a mobile DJ, you want to use less power because you dont want to get a power trip. SRX models need expensive beefy amps that takes takes lots of power. At the price of MRX model it fits well for the mobile dj.

@djteknovibe 2) The SRX subs go lower and travel further than MRX and is why the sound companies use them for big events. Comparing the SRX 718 and the MRX 518s.. cosmetics not so different, pump them up with the same amp that throws about a 1,000 watts at 4 ohms.. you can't tell the difference. Actually the srx's sub will get less wattage from the amp since is a 8ohm sub so you need poweful amps whcih can be risky especially for a mobile dj.. where most places cant handle that type of power.

Hey thanks for the comments ! and yea will do a tutorial for you at some point ...so busy at moment doing mix for Ministry of Sound and lots of other projects.That scratch isn't too difficult its best to start with a really long sound (just to get used to the feel of it)and open and shut the cross fader and the up-fader at alternate times (when one is shut the other is open etc) Dj X-rated

@djgraysoundandmusic qsc plx 804.. 900 watts into 4 ohms or qsc 1850 hd bridged mono which gives it 1800 watts! also behringer 2500 more for a back up though

@djteknovibe MRS stands for My Right Sack. Not everyone can afford a sub that cost almost a thousand and not to mention a high quality power amp to push the SRX line. If I can afford it, I would get them. Some of the clubs I play at uses SRX and sounds fantastic even with a good thousand people. I use to own the JRX subs and they distorted and I sold them and got MRX line... big difference but not so much in price. So don't compare apples and oranges.. you should learn that in elemantary

@F15SPEED4EVER Yea they are louder but only if you have a strong beefy amp. The srx speakers are very powerful. You can do large gigs with the 2 dual 15 and not add a sub and still sound full. Their subs are crazy too. But I'm practical with the Mrx line. I do mid level gigs so this works well. The jrx are not bad but when near peak it hurts my ears.

@xXCarloz94Xx don't worry about my opinions my friend.. JRX models are not bad..if you know what your sound is capable of.. just my experience that if you push them to hard.. they hurt my ears. Other than that.. they still do the job pretty daym well and jbl's are known to be realiable.. so its all good! =)

scratch resistent? Yess: but try putting another one on top and using such a setup three times a week, not so scratch resistant after all, for max protection get some rubber caps on the upside as well, it works really nice and helps protect your investment even longer... for everything else, they're beautiful and really powerfull speakers

The mrx series used to be good then they did some changes to the crossover and fucked it up. After that a lot of people started to return them...

@gabbanelli93 you can look into the qsc gx7 which is 1,000 watts into 4 ohms stereo and its only 600. Not sure of the quality in the gx series... but i know qsc has good quality amps.

@YouCEO how big are most of your gigs that you mostly do. If it is mostly small gigs, consider a powered sub such as the prx which saves you a lot of the confusion. But when your doing mostly 250 or more get passive speakers and a really strong amp. Also a crossover and and a sound exciter like an apex 204 or BBE sonic maximizer can do the the trick. You can also get more DB by putting your subs near the corner or putting two subs next to each other.

@YouCEO I think in your case, I wouldnt skip corners. Consider spending 10G on a decent sound system or do what I do and thats rent it. What sound system was you using before on your big gigs. Who are you and who are the legends that you are opening for.. just curious

@djteknovibe I actually do get my hearing test that is required for my job annually. We could go on and on about this never ending opinion. Truth is my customers and I are happy with the sound for their venue and I get compliments on how much sound I'm getting from these compact speakers. As for power, there have been times when the circuit breaker trips many times on just using my dj set up.. thats what I was refering too. I know your happy with your srx and I'm happy with my mrx, thats all.

@YouCEO Cool man. I had one of them blow though. Overall the srx are great.. but really expensive not just for the cab.. but also the amp to power them. If i could afford them, the srx are a way too go. But for money MRX are pretty darn good.

@gabbanelli93 the gx7 would still be underpowering your srx18 sub. the gx7 would work great with the sub except you can't bridge it which would be good if you are planning on only using one sub. If you use two subs, I would suggest a very powerful amp running atleast 1200 watts per side or two amps for each sub running bridge mono.

@spinmoney101 the 728s are expensive and if i were to get single i was thinking 718s. amps to power the 728s get expensive but ebay has some pretty good deals on older stuff. for about $600 i can get a qsc 4050hd or crown xls5000. those do over 4000W. but realistically they cant do over 3200W on a regular plug. im still looking to decide what i want. whether 718s or 728s. you said this mrx is 4ohms so that's out of the question for me. and 2 718s get pricey. im still thinking......

@spinmoney101 .... [cont] that nice of sounds. so i want to come in hard. to make a big impact. and if this sh1t don't work out, (cause you know once i start doing good) hate is gonna come my way lol, i can resale my speakers easy.. i was thinking of even buying some high end woofers and building my own cabins. i like earthquake sounds. as far as amps what do you think about the crown xls5000 vs Behringer iNUKE NU6000?
@spinmoney101
@spinmoney101 13 жыл бұрын
@F15SPEED4EVER yea.. i like having to control my sound next to the booth instead of having to go to the speakers to adjust the sound. I have my amps, crossover, compressor, and sound exciter right next to my finger tips. But powered speakers are really plug and go and its easy to set up. thanks for watching

@F15SPEED4EVER naw.. i have 3.. qsc rmx 1850 HD, qsc plx 804, and europower 2500 for a back up. maybe i get another light amp.. but for right now.. these amps been good except the rmx 1850 which has a blown channel.. lucky i use them for my subs and run them parallel.

@gabbanelli93 i don't really know one that would be cheap to use for the srx line. I wouldn't use cheap amps on expensive speakers.. it wouldn't do much justice

What City are you in? A DJ can literally make or break any dance, weather a club or being mobile. DJs can actually get pretty good money at clubs...I have known DJs who make $300+ a night @ 3 nights a week at the same club...mobile Djs can make anywhere from $500-$3000 in a night. Its all about what you can bring to the table. You are right about promoters tho...either way, Renting is a way to go, but saving all your bread and spending a good amount on Sound is the BEST way to go. Good Luck bro.

@djteknovibe its called sense of humor and I didnt say anything else bad about you. I also said your pretty good and that should be a compliment so learn to accept it. Furthermore, I respect your opinion,weather its good or bad. Im here to share my own personal knowledge with the dj community. Make a video about your SRX subs, I would like to watch it and so would other people with similar interest otherwise your like many other people... all talk and it dosent work well convicing me.

@spinmoney101 i'd just rather buy something good once with a good resale value. or keep. i like sh1t that knocks. knocks hard. i've been thinking along the lines of mrx 528s or srx. i'm new in the game and with this business you never know where it's headed. but i've already had gigs that hold 600ppl. 600, 400, 300. pretty big parties. i'm just a bedroom scratch dj and the legends in the city put me on cause they're overbooked. i've noticed a lot of djs in my city dont have ....

@spinmoney101 i dont have 10g's lol. my plan is just to get something nice with a good resale value. i'm just new to the game. i'm a nobody. by legends i mean local guys who've done it for a long time. i do plan to rent it too but parties don't pay dj's too much to begin with and promoters don't seem to care about sound quality. all they care about is the bottomline. they'd rather pay djs $100 and keep the rest. and there's always someone willing to work for almost free...
