Had Keen boots for four years, tried a couple different companies when looking for winter boots, had to go back to Keen. Just fits my foot.

I love my Keens! I'm on my third pair of H2s since 2005. I wear them daily and get so much life out of them. My snow boots are going on 10+ years. I've been a boot guy my whole life but the last two seasons have tried trail runners and I don't see myself ever backpacking in boots again. If Keen gets into that market I'll try them out.

I got a pair of Oboz Bridger. They are insulated, waterproof and very warm. Like most places, we've had above average snow here in PA this year. I've only done 3-5 mile hikes with them, but they have been really comfortable. Great traction.

You got my interest. I've hiked with the Keen Targhee 2 waterproof for a few years. Yes I also use trail runners. I like everything that you show about this boot. My start date for the PCT is 3/30 so not sure if I'll be able to get them let alone shakedown. Plenty of snow in Mt San Jacinto right now. I like to knife edge traversing snow depending on the consolidation. Not sure if the flex will inhibit a good bite so to speak. I like to try shoes on not just buy and hope. Thanks for acknowledging this boot I didn't know about it.

I’m a big Keen fan. First Keen foot ware I bought were sandals and now I have quite a few pairs of shoes and sandals. Bought boots last year, not the ones you have, and needed no break in period.

I've been through several pairs of Keen footwear, love their stuff. Their boots have been awesome for the snow, and their sandals are good for summer. But I'm not sure I'd want to do long hikes in them, they get kind of heavy in my experience.

The exclamation represents their proprietary "Keen dry" waterproof membrane thingy. I've been wearing Keens for quite a while in the winter and they've worked well for me. The toe box is always fairly wide on them and they're not too heavy. I'm going to have to take a look at these for winter.

I will be interested to see your follow up review. My feet throb after a long day in my Oboz...so I typically wear my Lone Peaks...unless there is snow and then I just take some ibuprofen. Would love to hear your impression of the traction - especially on wet rocks (important here in Rocksylvania). Any thoughts on the Tempo which is a sneaker version?

These look awesome! I've got square feet and I hope the wide toe box and flex forefoot fit well, I'll definitely check these out. On the Keen website the other color available is "Dark Olive/Ketchup." I think I would prefer the green rather than Ketchup but then again Ketchup might match your gaiters! :)

I am curious about that accordion flex rubbing on the top of your foot or the point where the upper meets the accordion. In looking at the flex I would say that is the biggest potential issue. I have also in the past had problems with the vulcanizing process failing. Whether this is a valid concern in this application or not I am not sure as I was using them in a brewing environment which is kind of unique and tends to destroy boots quickly.

I've never had good luck with Keen boots. Always get blisters and hot spots from the inner foam ripping falling apart at the heal.

I am trying to find trail running type boots that are waterproof. I love Keen, but lately have been wearing no drop or very low drop shoes. Have you or anyone tried the Topo Ultraventure boots? I love my Topo trail runners! Only prob is I wear a women's 12 (!) and can't find the boots I want in my size! Thanks!

Hey FoMo, no I haven’t tried the Topos, but I wanted to chime in and say I wear a women’s 11 which can be hard to find, though not as hard as 12s. I switched to men’s sizes (your women’s size minus 2) and I won’t ever go back to women’s shoes for a trail shoe. When I’ve tried the women’s and men’s version of a shoe on side by side, the men’s shoe has been consistently more comfortable. So if you haven’t tried a men’s 10 or 10.5, I recommend it!

Keen Dry will not keep you dry! I've worn Keen Dry. 'Dry' is the name of their waterproof membrane. I've never had luck keeping dry.

Just don't pull hard on the laces, loops that they go through will fail. Been burned by Keen on a brand new pair of work boots doing that.

My initial impression is that they won't last long. Of course, this is just an educated guess. Only time will tell. The reason I say this is because I know they use either elastane or spandex to make the shoe stretchy. These materials don't last long especially for footware.
