@@DisBlaine I am in total agreement that when AG rereleases something, they should look to see what the secondhand market is going for, but the idea that there are cheap St Lucia complete outfits out there is... certainly one of the more wild claims I've seen AG collectors make, lol. I mean, sure, you can generally find the gown, but good luck getting a complete wreath and the socks, too, for a decent price. But maybe I'm just not looking in the right places! So glad you're enjoying your new doll (and did you see that historicals are discounted today? Maybe time for a new Nanea...?).

My Kirsten was perfect! No problems with mine. I bought her for a Christmas seasonal doll. I just love her. My daughter had an original but got silver eye, so this one is great. I think the comments are reflective of what is going on on the outside. I let them pass like you and be appreciative of the release. I think AG needs a Christmas doll and they released a wonderful one. Thank you for sharing.

@@DisBlaine I find that a plastic tie (that is super sharp around the edges) is, potentially, more harmful than a string - particularly in a doll that is intended for children aged 6+. You wouldn't expect a child at this age to put everything they find into their mouths, yet, there will definitely be hygiene issues with a doll that cannot be cleaned properly, especially the one with cloth body. That's at a first glance... Anyways - hip hip hooray to your stringed Kirsten with even eyes :)

I love her packaging and how closely they made it match the book cover. Sure, they could have released more of her accessories or meet outfit, but you can't please everyone. I just got Kit her Christmas dress and I'm obsessed!! My poor Kit needs restrung and new legs due to marks not coming off despite my efforts, but I've been really bonding with her... which I am so happy because she came in worse condition than was disclosed... but her face is what made me pick this one. I'm glad my disappointment is waning and more I am in falling love with her. She even wore a mini-flight suit like I wore when I was in the Air Force and came with us to the Air Force Museum for Veteran's Day. She rocked it and I got some cool pictures!

Kirsten is my favorite of the original 3 dolls! I never had any AG dolls growing up but my sister got Kirsten for Christmas one year and I loved her so much (just a bit jealous😆). She wasn’t available anymore when I started down this dolly rabbit hole so I was super excited when they re-released her. I’m a Minnesota girl, and I am interested in pioneer life so I’ve always been drawn to her. I like how she is displayed in the box to look like the book cover - so cool. I am a little bummed that AG didn’t release just the outfit since her collection is amazing and so expensive on the secondhand market, but I’m not torn up about it. I’m in a lot of AG Facebook groups and have seen the negative posts about her. There is always going to be somebody who doesn’t like something - there are all sorts of collectors out there. Like others have said, I do appreciate your positive viewpoint and you don’t get views by complaining - your videos are so genuine. I just think you seem like the sweetest soul!

With the historical repros Mattel is producing and they sell out, it should be a clear indicator that the fans want more of them. (Outfits only please). I’m not too big a Kirsten fan, so this one isn’t for me. I enjoyed the unboxing and I’m glad you called attention to the details in the display box! I do think you got a doll with a really cute face, too. But I love classic mold, so I’m biased. I enjoy your channel because of your positivity and clear love for the dolls and the hobby. @ honestly I kind of separate the PC mold and the newer classic mold in my head. They are very different, but I do like both. I’d say I prefer the new one, though I really like the Kirsten you have in the winter outfit with the skates. I’m with you! I think I just prefer to enjoy the things I enjoy. They get a satisfaction out of hating on something (like hate fans in the k-pop world… but less dangerous I hope!) The hair on your vintage Kirsten is so cute! I have an older Kirsten and the re-release. I like the newer Mattel classic mold a bit better but think that AG should have used the lighter blue eyes. Still, I love them both. I don't have the St. Lucia outfit, but there is a sewing pattern and the socks are available various places. It's the wreath!! Doggone, wish I could figure out how to make that!

I understand both sides of the argument, and I can agree with both. I wish they had an option to just buy the outfit by itself. I feel like they'd probably make more if they did both the display doll, and a separate 'just the outfit' option. I enjoy dressing my dolls up for holidays, but I don't have the space for multiple dolls, so I'm passing on her. But if they had an option to just buy the outfit, I would have been all over that.

Hi Blaine I'm going to be doing the AGSurprise book reading challenge were we read as many of the surprise, Changes for and other Histocal and GOTY books that takes place during Christmas time. I'm starting the reading challenge on November 25th and ending the book reading challenge on Christmas Day. @DisBlaine I got a couple of holiday Barbies. I'm also half Jewish, so it sucks that they never made a Hanakah one. I made my own. I know AG has Hanakah stuff, but it's pricey.

@ did you collect the millennium twins… I’m only asking because they’re half Jewish too lol. I wasn’t raised in any religion, but I still decorate my dolls for Hanukah because I lived with Jewish people when I was younger (long story)

LOL I cant believe you got her SMH. No shade she is a beautiful doll glad you got her. I need an extra Tiana dress for my grand daughters doll do you have any left for sale. Sorry about the loss of your ornaments. The berries and leaves are Lingon berry. I did not get the Kirsten doll because I have three Kirsten dolls and I only wanted the crown since I also have several St. Lucia dresses. Between the cost and just space it was not in the cards for me to get this doll.

Canada post is on strike, so I’d have to aim to shop on one of my many trips to Buffalo. You have several St Lucia dresses?? How? Yeah space is definitely an issue. I even have to figure out where I’ll store after the holidays ☠️

@@DisBlaine great no rush he much for the dress and I got the st. Lucia dresses on eBay and one in a shop goodwill lot. With a Kirsten doll. I am working on a diy for the crown wish me luck maybe by next year

Awww, you got a cute one! I have my PC Kirsten girly, but I'm so tempted to get a "refreshed" new Kirsten. And while I already have this outfit, why the heck do I still want this???? My goddddddddduh. 🥴🥴🫨 But hey can I ask you which collector you're talking about that shares the numbers left of these collector dolls? Do you monitor this yourself? I'd like to be able to check these stock numbers myself but not exactly sure how people do it.

@@Kari-G it’s the beautiful presentation!! I might’ve been able to pass if she came in a regular box like the last wave of historicals. The collector doesn’t have a channel. She adds hundreds to her cart (a number she knows will be too many) and the cart will get corrected with how many are left. I tried once but gave up because it take wayyyyy too long!

@@DisBlaine YES, it's the presentation of Kirsten, you're totally right. I just have a weakness for her. I actually used to sing on St. Lucia Day with candles/wreaths and the whole shebang at my Swedish college in Southern Minnesota, so she's my girl. :). Ugh, I didn't think I needed a second Kirsten, but now I'm worried she's going to sell out. Thanks for letting me know about the "stock" check method. I figured that's how it works, but never actually tried it cause it seems like it would take forever just like you say....lol.

@ oh wow that is a cool connection!! I’m not saying this to be a bad influence but out of empathy… I feel like you’d regret it if you passed on her. You can put her away after the holidays if it’s a space issue. But this is a special release (imo)
