That is very expensive if you don't get to an accident. Very cheap if it saves your life or injury. But I really like the how strong the mesh is and the ability to allow the flow of air through. I am thinking of just getting the pants now that it is much cheaper than before as I already have a Klim jacket to match with the pants. Great review. .

Heather is right Adam, sorry it’s a No, I have badlands Pro and think it’s great but I’m sorry that suit is trying to hard to be all things and it just doesn’t do it for me

YUP. You're not alone and that's why this thing has been on sale and dropping in price for the last 2 years and has been on sale for 6.5 years without a revision. People just did not buy these for a lot of reasons.

I would think where you are it would be a great option. Here in Co most jackets, including the mesh, feel hot to me. I usually run an airbag vest with L2 back along with a Klim Dakar jacket, full L2 and Switchback pant (L2). On hot days I take the sleeves off. Downside is a slide but I raced road bikes in full Lycra LOL so I’ll take my chances. If the terrain gets real nutty I unclip the airbag. Anything more extreme and I have full Kevlar armor and a different bike.

that's a recent predicament of mine. I've been running Dakar Jacket + In The Boot Dakar pants while doing very tight technical stuff and on the 80 degree days, it's very nice but then I don't have very much protection versus my Badlands or Adventure Rally jackets / pants. I see this setup as one where I think I'll sell a couple of jackets and use this for my summer jacket for when I'm going riding, it's going to be above 70 and there's no chance of rain. Badlands Pro will still be the touring suit and Dakar will still be the suit for Beta woods riding as I usually have to push my bike over logs that have fallen. Klim screwed up by charging too much for this suit. At $899 + $500, it's still about $300 more than it should cost for a mesh jacket but I'm not at all arguing that their price isn't justified as it's very high-tech.

Good info- I also ride with an air vest which, unfortunately, covers the vast majority of venting. Ive been looking for a solid answer to how to stay safe yet cool while wearing an air vest.

😂😂😂😂 her comments! I agree though. 🤣🤣🤣 But it’s kinda cool too! Bought this kit last summer on the cheap and it may be crazy looking but it’s a great summer setup. I got caught in the rain without my rain gear though....🤬 Again, great for hot weather then I swap back to the Daniese gear during the fall and winter.

How is the Klim Rally Air holding up? I am thinking about this suit vs. the Klim Marrakesh. Thanks for the review

VERY Nice. It's super heavy, over built, over engineered and just really overwhelming to put on but it fits me like a glove. For SUPER hot weather, it's too heavy nd doesn't let enough air through. I'm in New England so I can wear this all Summer at temps 65-80 and it's fantastic. above 80 and dry and I might be too hot.

Hella nice set up, mesh with all the protection of a high end solid textile. My favorite comment, as Adam geeks out like mad and is looking for confirmation from Heather who clearly doesn't geek out over bike stuff the same way "You're gonna keep it anyway" ha

It’s a really fantastic jacket and I believe that the primary reason isn’t sell very well because it’s priced so much higher than every other mesh jacket even though I do feel as if the MSRP is justified with a bunch of high-end materials and technologies. And yeah, Heather and I have a very good relationship it’s super healthy

Sigh...The older I get,the more my gear skews toward stupidly safe. I ride a Diavel 1260,definitely NOT an adventure bike,but I am thinking about this gear. I just like the idea of ceramic,laser stitched armor slide zones. I have an A-Stars leather GP-Plus V2 air jacket,all the kevlar jeans,Dianese VE1N knee guards,Bohn shorts,Forcefield sport suit,Arai Defiant and a bunch of other stuff.......um,maybe just the pants. Yeah,I like the pants :-0 Great vid,by the way.

Thanks, Yeah this suit looks pretty dumb and it's seriously overbuilt but I used it already this year when it was 75F outside and it does move a lot of air. Maybe not as nice if you're in REALLY hot climates.

Hello Adam, I could never find the perfect size in that jacket/pants. And it was way to heavy for me. Too many pockets. But as you mentioned you will be one of a few to have that suit! Don't get me wrong I love Klim products but I will stick to my 2018 Badland Pro and other jacket. I am surprised that you did not go for the new Baja S4 suit, have you seen/tried it? Enjoy your new jacket and pants. Cheers

rarity is one of those fun things that I enjoy. I guess it's a millennial thing to chase 'exclusivity' when affordable and the price drops made that possible. I spoke to my Klim Rep about the new Baja and it was overall less expensive AND I would have gotten more KZbin views since it's new but I've really wanted the this suit for a while or at least see how it feels. I think I'm very satisfied. Once Baja S4 goes on sale, I'll give it a go.and to clarify this suit was $300 more I think than the Baja suit but I think it's twice as safe but also moves half of the air due to complexity. This suit is definltey more appropriate for hot days in the northeast and the Baja will shine in So-Cal and other west coast arid states.

I understand this vid is over a year old but have you has the opportunity to compare this to newer baja S4? Looking to upgrade my riding gear just wondering if the adventure air @ $700 is worth the extra $200 over baja S4

I haven’t personally seen or used the Baja line yet. I was going to grab it in a couple of years when it became “non-current’ on their site and became discounted. When talking to my contact at Klim though I asked them between this and Baja when I deciding what to purchase last year and they told me I’d be much happier with the Baja. I’ts lighter, more flexible material (not as stiff) and uses newer more modern padding. That’s defeinitely the suit to get according to them.

@@AdamChandler86 Appreciate your response absolutely hate buying gear as there are so many options out there. It's almost overwhelming today. Believe I'm going to purchase baja S4 for hot rides and possibly there newer badlands adventure pro. Unless I can find and earlier version. Recently shredded my Joe Rocket mesh jacket. Only doing about 45mph on corner hit some alge and that was it. Get what you pay for as always.

Good plan on mixing S4 w/ Badlands. I have usually hot core (upper body) and cold lower body so I often run my Badlands Pro pants year-round then mix and match a full gore-Tex jacket or mesh jacket. This is what I find to be most comfortable. I also hate wet crotch / butt so having legs wrapped in Gore-Tex is nice.

If you’ve truly had the opportunity to wear the jacket and pants in hot weather, could you be so kind and reveal what it’s really like? Specifically, does the jacket really flow a ton of air when it is hot outside? It seems to me that with all of the protective and ergonomic inner wrappings of the jacket, air flow would be reduced enormously. I imagine the pants flow air a lot better except for the thigh area?

It's pretty bad at moving air. It's great in the Northeast when temps never get above 80. I wouldn't want to use it in anything warmer. The Dakar jacket (without any venting open) moves more air than this thing. It's kind of funny.
@sumporfuk
@sumporfuk 3 жыл бұрын
@@AdamChandler86 Thanks for the feedback. After digging deeper I’ve read a few others talk about the restrictive air movement. Similar to you, I have two other Badlands Pro suits that are absolutely great, but I’ve been is some really hot climates in China and Thailand that the Badlands is just not suited for. The Badlands have saved me big time from a few extremely bad crashes, so I have no doubt the protection aspect of the Rally Air, it just may not be suited for around the world journeys.
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 3 жыл бұрын
this will move more air than badlands and is safer because no vents to open. the shell has no compromising points to it..way less seams than a Badlands Pro with all of the zippers open so it's going to be safer but it will not behave like a proper mesh jacket. think Badlands Pro w/ perforations.

@@AdamChandler86 Its mind boggling that after all these years since ADV travel has become popular that none of these companies (for whatever their reasons are) can put out a product to suit RTW adventure travel. I mean, does anyone not have a clue that there are extreme temperature changes to be encountered in ones journey. Instead, it’s always one thing or the other with these guys. 🤦🏾‍♀️

That's a great idea for a video clip. Once she's comfortable, we could engage cruise control and I can pass fluid over to her on her bike. It would totally reach!
