I'm just growing my first ever hippeastrum. It's growing so fast. I've become fascinated with indoor flowering plants. My orchids are wonderful but now I'm looking for what else will flower indoors. I also recently bought a white bat flower plant so I'm curious to see how it goes. As Always really enjoying your vodeos ❤

None of them bloomed this year. 😔 the coronariums need an extra long season to bloom here.
Hi Jeff 👋 Sweet Turbs sweater is cute 😊 Love the Varigated Bamboos! 😍 Loving everything! You take care and we will see you Wednesday. Have a great week. 😊

I was looking at Amaryllis bulbs from johnscheepers. I'm looking hard at La Paz, Exotic Star, Magic Green and Picotee. I don't understand why Picotee isn't sold all over the place since it has been around for at least 20 years. I bought these ceramic succulent pots for my Gymnos off Amazon. They are shallow and wider, which is good because Gymnos usually have small root systems. I have to laugh because I bought mesh screens to go in the bottom of them and I have no idea what I did with them, I think I might have thrown them out by accident. Oh well.
@GrowingSouth8 күн бұрын
Hey Michael, hirts has some of those varieties (I was considering those as well for the garden).
@TropicalPlantParty8 күн бұрын
I need to get some better pots for the gymnos, just had to work with what I had for right now. Picotee is pretty popular, feel like ive seen it a bunch of places, but maybe that's just an accumulation of memories from over the years.

I'm not a bamboo lover but those leaves are nice I admire those in areas that thive. Ah Turbo nothing is gonna keep that kid from his swim class. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Jeff! It was fun seeing Turbo in his new sweater, and seeing Pumpkin and Poppy, too. The bamboo will be/are already pretty. That amaryllis will be beautiful, so will the daffodils. The little cacti are pretty. Can they be left out in the winter? I'm thinking probably not. I love sanseveria and that one is so pretty. I don't do well with cactus, or succulents, inside, but every so often I decide to give them another try. Always a waste of money. Thank you so much for sharing!

Turbo certainly knows how to entertain himself. I've always loved bamboo, but I've never seen this one before, Shiroshima? If it would be happy in a pot it might work for me, but I'm sure I'd have to bring it in during the summer. I always enjoy these videos when I learn so many new things from you, and I LOVE the grow space! Thank you for saying you were going to film in the grow space. In a past video I think you said you might not film the grow space anymore but I find it interesting. xxo

Those bamboo plants look really good. Look forward to seeing you grow them. I always hate late fall and thinking about bringing in and relocating plants I keep outside all year to bring in down here in Florida for about 3.5 months. They look bad but always come back strong. Also got to wrap my bananas with frost cloth. I got 3 bunches of bananas this year and enjoyed them all.

Nice bamboo's! Arundo around here is IMMENSE! There are people growing regular green, and variegated varieties, and they are substantial clumps that reach well over 15 feet tall and grow like wildfire here. Pretty, but needs a massive amount of space. I've never understood Amaryllis growing culture for Northern growers. Hippeastrum are hardy here, and are planted neck buried, but exposed at the top. They also seem to grow fine in a pot planted this way. So, I'm really not sure where the "don't bury the neck/bulb" culture came from, or the "don't water from overhead" culture either. A healthy amaryllis (hippeastrum) should have no issue with this. They are really a pretty tough bulb in my experience. Down here I've bought them from BB stores around the holidays, stuck them in the veggie drawer of the fridge and planted them come late February/Early march. They bloom here mid spring-early summer and typically you can get multiple bloom stalks from a mature bulb after a year or two. Mine are planted in everything from heavy red clay, to rocky mineralized soil, and humus rich loam. They don't seem to care. Those daffodils are absolutely gorgeous! WOW! BTW: My Prince of Orange does the same thing in winter - they change color. Cooler temps & lower light make them more saturated/darker. :)

imo pairing the dwarf variegated bamboo in a blue vertical streaked container lacks contrast, love the tan/white harlequin planter - very festive. I love my peppermint stick arundo donax. I am storing it in my sunroom overwinter, last yr I was able to lift a sm chunk, but this year, it was too fibrous to glean a chunk, so I lifted the entire root ball. Given the PW petunias are costing more, and the warmer fall means one didn't die yet after severe cutback, I will overwinter as a houseplant. Sad to have to get rid of rising sun redbud, which continually produced new yellow/orange leaves up to late summer. But a mild wind tore another major branch at the trunk yet again, so it needs to go.
