Thanks for your videos which I’ve been binge watching 😂. I have been buying and selling film cameras here in the UK and it’s reached the point that there isn’t many quality cameras left to “find”. They are either in need of serious repair, or the price is extortionate. Anyway film is ridiculously expensive too. So you have inspired me to start with digital cameras here in the UK. However this box was a beaut. My first bulk buy was not nearly as good, but it did supply me with batteries and memory cards. 😂. Keep up the videos I’m learning the values. So thanks and always entertaining for a camera buff like me!

Thanks for watching, and nice KZbin channel yourself! I am not very knowledgeable about film gear, bummer to hear about drying up inventory there in the UK. Believe me, I have bought and still encounter some boxes that are lemons that are not even break even! 😑

Yeah, that was a gem! It was released in 2014, so for a 10 year old camera to only have a few dozen pics taken with it is definitely uncommon!

15:00 Oh dang... EOS 300D started my DSLR path, replaced EOS 300, back in first years of 2000. Warm memories. Later I handed that 300D after over 10 year usage to my nephew, whom good father I'm... And if I'm not wrong, that 300D is still working on hands of my big broter, father of that nephew. Those 300D's are hard to kill. :D

Another nice haul! I call dibs on that 6D! I have a thing for bridge cameras too lately. Just scored a fully functional Panasonic FZ20 for $15 in pretty good condition. Just missing the top dial plate but I have a Canon T5i I got for next to nothing with the same issue and it works perfectly fine. I already have the FZ50 and FZ200. Looking forward to more videos.

Lovely! 3 great Panasonic Lumix bridge cameras right there! Thanks as always Michael. Next video is going to be about the Canon EOS D60, Canon's 3rd ever homegrown DSLR camera released in 2002. Just took a hike up in the national forest and got some neat cactus pictures with it!

I had a SX260HS, but sent it in for warranty due to dust in the lens and got back a SX280HS. The 280 has better noise reduction and faster operation, but the movie mode is useless due to low battery warnings within seconds of recording. The firmware update never fixed it and the only workaround is to put tape over the center pin of the battery. I still have it and have taken over 9k pictures on it even with a minor scratch on the lens, and haven't killed the battery yet.

I didn't know that about the video recording bug on the SX280, I have done some video recording on the SX260. That's a ton of photos on the SX280-cool!

The Canon SX camera with the haze, you should be able to pop off the front lens quite easily (carefully!) to clean it.

Quick comment, with DSLRs when you look through the viewfinder you don't see the sensor, you see the mirror. Hope you don't mind me saying this. If you want to see the sensor, you would have to get the camera to pull up the mirror so it exposes the sensor. I know in Canon cameras they have an option for manual sensor cleaning where the mirror is pulled up and you can then clean the sensor.
@pricklypearcamera9 ай бұрын
You are absolutely right, I meant focus screen wear/scratches and dust visible through viewfinder-not the sensor. I just edited the video.
@Mikey14219859 ай бұрын
@@pricklypearcamera yeah the focussing screen. Some nice cameras in this box. I have just upgraded from the Canon 5D classic to the 5D mark iii but that 6D looks real good. Hope it finds a good home

EF-S lenses use a white square, EF lenses use a red dot. An EF-S lens will foul - or break - the mirror on an EF body. EF-S bodies can use either.

Yep-I misspoke, grabbed the right EF lens, meant EF not EF-S. I just updated the video.

I have its brother the F828 and I use it exclusively for IR photography. Mine has a bad LCD now because I left it near the magnet for too long, but the pictures come out fine. So I'd definitely test the 717 further before junking it.
