Unboxing Minitrix 16304 15459 15460 IC 611 Gutenberg Express Train

This video takes a look at the Minitrix Intercity 611 "Gutenberg" express train. The IC 611 drove from Hamburg-Altona via Cologne and Stuttgart to Munich and consisted of the classic BR 103 followed by red and green passenger cars. The Minitrix consist is built from the following:
- Minitrix 16304 BR 103.1 as "103 128-5" with DCC, sound and light
- Minitrix 15459 Apmz 122 1st class, ARmz 211.0 restaurant and Bm 235 2nd class
- Minitrix 15460 Avmz 111.1 1st class and two 2nd class Bm 235 and Bpmz 291.3
A really nice consist with the classic class 103 and German passenger cars. Interested in hearing your opinion and experiences with the Minitrix IC 611 "Gutenberg".

Thank you for keeping us included in your N-scale adventures!! I am currently looking to get started with model railroading and am trying to determine which scale is best for me (HO-scale vs N-scale). If you wouldn't mind, could you please inform us as to the size of the table you're using? I noticed that the original, beginners oval you set up in the first video of this series, was 44" x 20", but I'm still having a hard time determining the table size. TIA

Hi and welcome to the hobby! The table is 2x1.2 meters (approx 6.5x4 ft). Regarding the choice of HO-scale vs N-scale consider: - Do you want long consists? - what rolling available in the scale you are looking for? - how much space do you have? - Do you want digital and is it already in the locomotives? - Do you have the patience for fiddling with the small scale? - Your age - as you get older the smaller scale requires eyesight and agility. However, this can be compensated by magnifying glass, etc. Hope this helpw / enjoy ;-)

BTW: My table is just a little too small for the Kato V11 Double Track Set. This is 2335mm (7.7ft) x 1261mm (4.2ft). I had to get creative to squeeze it onto my table. So if you are considering this one you need a bigger table than mine. However, the V14 Inside loop Double Track Set is small and would fit on my table. But you might want both to make it 4 track?

Kinda wished Marklin/Trix had some more variation in the coupling sounds, they are all the same and they could use some mixups.

Agreed - a lot of re-use of sounds across locomotives. Heard it is not easy to record locomotive sounds in good quality and this is an art in itself. Have fun ;-)
