Unboxing my classic Omega speedmaster triple date.
I've owned a seamaster for a few years now which I love, however I have always had a craving for a speedmaster triple date. So here it is at last. My stainless steel blue dial in a 38mm case.

Thanks Andy, While I'd never say never I was really struggling with the time to do it, so I put the camera down and instead of spending my very short weekend uploading and editing I decided to enjoy my Triumph motorcycle which wasn't getting ridden while I was making videos.

This watch is not worn to space by astronauts, that’s only the Speedmaster Professional with the manual wind movement.

Yes i know, They wern't even making the tripple date when they started sending astronauts to space. I said they used the speed master i didn't say they used a tripple date. I also say michael schumacher has a speed master but not necessarily the tripple date Speed Master.

I think it was about two years. I've had my seamaster a few years now, Picked up my speedmaster last week.

Yes the seamaster is nice and simple, easier to read to and as its a much tougher watch its the only one I wear to work. I like the history of the speedmaster as well as the coronagraph. Its a very complex watch and I love the engineering side of it. The triple date is the most complicated watch Omega have ever made. You only ever need adjust it when the clocks go forward or back and on leap years. Although you can also get a speedmaster with no date, a single date like the seamaster or a day date.

Yes I was out that way Thursday Morning. If memory serves me correct I was coming from Green core Atherstone and on my way to Blakemore Wolverhampton. I drive kv64 xfp now, although there is nothing on KZbin there are some pictures of it online if you type in the number plate. I had one of the two newest truck in the fleet for a few months. My brothering law has the other which is kv64 xfn.

Yep, I'm a skinny bugger, Its why i also have the seamaster in 38mm not 40mm. Although it looks like the 40mm on my rist.I also can't have a Breitling navtimer or a Rolex deep sea as it would look ridiculous on my small rists. I think i've chosen the best posible watch for my size.

What price range are you talking for that watch?

Hi Gordon. Paid £2000 for the speedmaster. You can get them cheaper but if you want a freshly serviced one with with the box and paperwork and a shop warrantee in good condition that's the general price range. Hopefully as they stopped making the triple date in 2009 they will go up in value over time.

Must admit, if I had the money I'd have classic cars to. You just need the room to store them and its even better if you can store them inside. With my old tractor Landy and triumph motorbike theres no more room inside my workshop. With my watch I can enjoy it, and even if I'm wrong and the price goes down then I've still got a nice watch to look at and use. No worry's about expensive storage or insurance and servicing plus the speedmaster is a racing drivers watch so its a little bit car-ish.

I bought mine off E-bay for USD $1100. No box or papers and no metal watchband. I had my watchmaker look it over. He said, it is virtually a brand new watch. I really want the metal band.

@@Skooter-nw3cm I'm still loving mine and its on my wrist now. You can get a fake metal band that looks just like the real one on ebay. I've put a fake one on my seamaster as i was starting to scratch the clasp while at work. So i've taken the Omega one of with the plan of polishing the scratches out then keeping it safe. While i've now got the fake one on and its less important if i scratch that one. As i don't use my speedmaster for work and i take it off if i'm doing anything remotly iffy i keep the omega strap on it. But the fakes are only £30 ish depending on the size if you go on ebay. If my memory serves me right i paid £2000 for it.That was from a reputable dealer so i knew i wasn't buying a fake and i could take it back if there was any problems. It also had the box and papers and was in really nice condition. I've seen them for £1200 but no box and papers, some of them have scratches all over them or just don't look as nice. Most expensive i've seen in stainless steel was around £3000. If your feeling really rich there is a rose gold one which looks stunning and i would have in a heart beat untill i saw the price tag of £35000. Then i realised i was a stainless steel man.
