I am 5'10" and went with a size Small! Canyon sizing seems to be a bit different than the rest of the brands I looked into, but feels good so far!

Im also adverse to maintain my bike. Even worse than you it would seem. I try to keep the dirt off then add WD-40 if something squeaked lol. Looking at a new bike for myself aswell this is a good reminder
