Unboxing My First Record Player & 5SOS CALM Target Exclusive Vinyl | Audio Technica LP60XBT

I’ve been wanting to buy a record player for awhile now and I finally bought one! I did some research on vinyl collecting and I decided to buy an Audio Technica LP60XBT turntable. I tried it out with the Target exclusive CALM vinyl by 5 Seconds of Summer, which is my first vinyl record. Since I’m new to vinyl collecting I’d really appreciate it if you leave me tips and advice in the comments! I can’t wait to add more records to my collection (which means more videos like this coming soon).

Wow that color for the record player is really cool! Nice that you got it for 100, they recently raised the price by like 20 bucks lol. I have they heyday record player by target hooked up to a receiver and speakers. Planning on getting a cassette deck to go along with it

40-year Technics turntables (like mine) are some of the best. Basically an AT-LP120 but older.

Ditch the bluetooth (defeats the purpose of listening to vinyl), get a vintage Realistic receiver (they’re inexpensive), and some thrift store passive speakers, and, coupled with that TT you’d have a kickass system.

This video is a few years old so I have updated my setup. I have a wired connection now that I use with my powered speakers on that TT. The sounds is better. I don’t have an interest in getting a receiver or passive speakers right now due to budget and space, but maybe I’ll go that route one day. I like my powered speakers a lot because I can adjust treble and bass to my liking to make the sound more powerful imo.

It could be due to a number of things. Make sure the Bluetooth connection is on and in range. Make sure the turntable and speakers are set to Bluetooth mode, and they’re directly connected to each other. Make sure the speakers are on and the volume is up. You can try resetting the Bluetooth connection and pair the two again.

I’ve never tried it with AirPods or beats but since it’s Bluetooth I think it could work. Beats speakers might work better than headphones. I could be wrong though.

There are scratches because the inner sleeve is made of paper and new record companies are not living up to the standard of original record companies from the 20s to the 90s. Also great record player choice! (Edit): Forgot to say nice handling of the record.

That’s definitely part of the problem. Brand new records are not handled well at the factories and have scratches already! Now I have that record in an anti static sleeve and luckily it has no skips. I love my turntable!
