Unboxing both (Standard & Expanded) Mei Raiden 1/8 Thunder Lament of the Fallen figures (from Honkai Impact 3rd). These figure(s) are my one and only holy grail figure, my first figure pre-order ever, and the reason I got into figure collecting.
Sorry if I'm speaking at 'lightning' speed, I swear I did not speed it up. Haha!

Nice to see you being so in love with Honkai especially Mei (⌐■-■) Well... Now you got Raiden Mei, how about Raiden Shogun from Genshin which is exactly Mei but in Japanese form? Would you pick her up too when she gets a BOOBA Sword Scale figure? 😂

Funny story was, I did play a lot of Genshin Impact when it first came out, and beat the original story before they started adding new content. Then I stopped playing at that point (and I guess moved onto Honkai). But when I heard Mei came to Genshin, I logged back on, to pull her and then I haven't logged in again. Haha. I was intending on going back, but I need to clone myself to play all the games I want to play.

Oooh! We share the same back story about how I finally committed to collecting figurines. Although, mine was Herrscher of the Void. Her figure was my first PO and Herrscher of Thunder was my second. I haven't opened my figures officially because I couldn't find the right display, then I saw your DETOLF mod 😁

Yeah, it's funny how this one figure really tipped me over the edge. There is a Garage Kit of Raiden Shogun (Genshin Impact) that has peaked my interest. Maybe that will be my first step into the unlicensed figures.

@@Battletide. There is a resin one of Raiden Shogun for pre order right now. But it is so expensive. Twice the price of DX Raiden Mei. Still on the fence if Im pre order one. Mei is also my strongest valkyrie in Honkai impact although she still doesn't have a great skin in game.

Honestly, I've been waiting for a Starchasm Nyx or Stygian Nymph (where you have both Seele's - though I'll be unboxing the new Seele figure in my next video), and Palatinus Equinox, she deserves a figure. I love the pace they are releasing Honkai figures, just wish some other characters were picked. Oh... and Haxxor Bunny would make a great figure too. Oh well.😄

Yeah, the shipping killed me as well. I don't pre-order from Solaris very often, so I was surprised when they came back to me saying "Yeah... you know that shipping you paid us over a year ago, clearly it's not enough. Give us more." Haha

@@lt.monday9912 I'm still debating on it. Either I do everything on the current base or a build my own base kind of like what I did with my pop up parades (my standard figure already has a broken piece on it that was glued, so I'm not too worried about customizing the original base). Now there are a few approaches, either have her sitting between stone building rubble. Like a broken stone wall backdrop, with brick pieces all around here. Which would involve maybe Warhammer props or something like that. Or, I make my own base, that looks l like a concrete ground impact/indent where she's sitting in the middle of the impact, and have some kind of plastic lightning shoot up from the ground. Need to see what is out there, and maybe photoshop a mock of it before moving forward.

I would have to say that major of my pre-orders and purchases come from AmiAmi. But that is not the only place I have pre-orders. I use AmiAmi the most because you don't pay upfront, you only pay once they are ready to ship. And their pre-owned selection is pretty good for browsing. Great customer service. I have also used SolarisJapan in the past (this is where I got Mei Raiden), you pay upfront for preorders and they may send you an additional fee when they are ready to ship since their initial shipping fee was an estimate (since they don’t know box size by the time you pre-ordered). They aren't that bad for finding figures that have been already released (i.e., older figures) where other sites don't have inventory, though sometimes they can be a bit pricey. Great customer service. I also pre-order from GoodSmile US, since they sometimes have exclusive pre-orders. Not a bad place to shop for figures that have been already released on the market. Best place to snag Pop up Parades and Nendoroids. Big Bad Toy Store has been my saving grace when I missed pre-orders and everyone else is sold out. Their base price is a bit higher than JP sites, but shipping costs are much lower since domestic US. CrunchyRoll is another option to find already released figures if you live in the US. Note, their packing is extremely underwhelming, most of the time the figure and it's box come out fine, but I've seen a lot of squished boxes from them.

Good question. Solaris Japan labels this figure as "Mei Raiden - Thunder Lament of the Fallen"... However, other sites label it as "Mei Raiden Kaminari no Ritsusha Zainin no Banka Ver." or "雷電芽衣 雷の律者 罪人の挽歌Ver." which is translated to roughly 'Mei Raiden Thunder Ruler Sinner's Song Ver.'. As for shopping for this figure on Ebay, under Item Specifics, if the Brand is listed as miHoYo or APEX, the figure "should" be real. I do shop a bit for figures on Ebay, and I find fake figures will list the brand as blank or brand of the knock off company or just not an legit brand to avoid issues with returns (since they are marketing as not the real thing, harder to return the figure since the buyer should have known it was fake since it was listed on the page). However, this is not always the case. The Mei figures I saw on Ebay seem to be good. Just double check the seller's reviews and their previous sales to find a seller you are comfortable with. A lot of the figures coming out of Japan tend to be anime online shops anyway, even AmiAmi sells their figures on Ebay. And given that this figure just came out, you should be pretty safe at the moment to get a real figure.

Oh wow! That is a long wait. But she is well worth it in the end, she's definitely my favorite figure in my collection. Hopefully she comes soon without any further issues.

I really wish they would make a figure for Palatinus Equinox / Durandal... it would be an instant buy. Any other tips on how to get the sword into her hand?

Still having issues with it? I remember it being hard compared to other figures. My main tips is, obviously try to slide the narrow part of the hilt in first, and then turn the blade once in. I think you can probably use your finger nail to pull back her 4 fingers slightly to open up the hand a little bit to slide it in the hilt. Maybe try to wedge it in between index finger and thumb, and then roll the hilt upwards a finger at a time until the whole hilt is under the fingers. It is really tricky, and sorry I can't give better tips. I hope you are able to get it all figured out soon.

@@Battletide. , it took me like 45 mins LOL. I somehow slowly wiggled the butt of the sword from under her hand and moved it up, then turned the blade. Kinda used alot of force but no damage and it worked. Thanks for the help, love this figure/character!

@@falconhero13 Glad it worked out! Again, probably the worse sword I had to put in any hand. She is still by far my favorite figure in my collection, they did a great job making her.

i dont i only play genshin. but yeah raiden is my favorite character too, i believe she is by far the strongest archon at the moment, we dont know anything about the two other archons so who knows@@Battletide.
