Congratulations. Of the three, aesthetically my favorite is the 6119G, with the 5205G a close second. For a daily wearer I would choose the 5205G as I find the date function useful though generally prefer a large date window that we see with German watches or with the Rolex cyclops window. I sense that your 5226G is coming soon.

I only wish the 6119G was slightly smaller in diameter, and it seems to have a lot of glare. The 5205G is more comfortable to wear. The 5212A is the next most comfortable.

Wow! This is actually my favorite calatrava. Saw it in person in HK - love the calendar complexity and steel case gives it that sportiness and informality. Rare piece, far rarer than the white gold model - according to my Patek dealer. You definitely qualify for the aquanaut/nautilus now - they should offer that to you next.

Just wondering b/c a lot of the non-Nautilus non-Aquanaut models are currently trading well below retail price on the secondary market, and in the past (like pre-2020) ADs would routinely offer 10-20% discounts to established customers.

Congrats on a great PP collection! I currently have a 5205r and a 5167r - and noticed you mentioned the subdial on the annual calendar is for a different timezone. My AD explained it is the 24 hour clock, did I misunderstand? I think it could very well be used as a different timezone so good idea 👍 ps the 5212 is actually my next preferred timepiece and I’m on the list . It’s very interesting!

That was my mistake, your AD is correct. The subdial is not an extra time zone, it’s just a 24 hour indicator. But I still love this watch. And my 5212 is great too.

Yes I love the 5205! The weekly calendar function appeals to me as in my business I schedule appointments through weeks, and it is a non recognisable Patek. I like the idea of a constant reminder of how many weeks are left in the year (motivational I guess). At family gatherings, I sometimes feel a bit embarrassed wearing rose gold pieces or Rolex (many people start talking about them, or the value etc) . I am very excited to get the 5212, which flies slightly under the radar - congrats and thanks for the clarification! @@sc1

This is a great watch with a very unique and ingenious functionality (basically you get an annual calendar output with a day date input). You need to adjust it 5 times a year, correct?

Very near the top. The BEST of my Patek collection (above the 6119G and 5205G). It is so elegant, yet casual. The opaline dial is mesmerizing. Very lightweight and under-stated. No one knows what I am wearing. I changed the strap to a slightly darker tone and smaller size. But yet it’s not a Sports Watch, and I end up wearing some of my Rolex more often. (Submariner 124060, Daytona 116508, and GMT Master- II 126719). Mostly after work. But I wear a suit to work, and nothing beats a Patek.

Very interesting choice of typeface by Patek. It's a lot more casual than I expected of the brand. If you look closely, the same letters aren't the same (e.g. all of the A's don't match). It seems as if they had someone sketch the design by hand, then copied it over to the computer to print that exact sketch onto the dial. If so, then judging by the penmanship, I'd lean towards a post-millenial gen or a man with average or sub-par handwriting trying really hard to make it look neat.

When you get a watch from them and the strap is too long do they swap that for a shorter one for you or do you have to pay an additional amount? If so how much?

They usually do not have the short size in stock at the AD. They will order it from Patek and it takes about 3-4 weeks if it the standard color/material. Cost is about $300

Congratulations, this is a watch i wanted for a while. But lately I've fallen a bit out of love for it. Cool that its steel, but they definitely cut corners on it. Could have been a great piece if the dial was hand printed and not stamped, better hour markers, and definitely needs a better strap. Also strange that it has a date window when everything else is on the dial. Nonetheless, i think it will be a future collectible because its steel, so congrats and wear in good health

It is tough to pick a clear winner in your Patek collection. Perhaps the 5205g but the 5212 has its merits. Why the effort and the money if the ultimate target is a Nautilus ? You think you enjoy them at the moment but probably wont look back these boring Calatravas after you get that sports PP. Could have gotton a 5712 in grey market less than what you will end spending. But understandably, this is a journey, and we enjoy being part of it :)

The Nautilus is Not the ultimate target, but maybe a tertiary target. I only buy a watch if I like to wear it. I’ll be totally fine if I’m never able to add any other PP, and I’ll keep enjoying my “boring” Calatrava and Annual Calendar. (I’m well aware of immediate availability on the grey market, but I choose not to partake, I’d rather buy from the AD)
