replaced a Yamaha with this thing and its incredible driving 4ohm 7.1 martin logan speakers. Blows away what I had before. Fantastic

Surrounds came alive and the sound profile is smooth,warm, but somehow still very detailed. I went into audessey editor and increased my highs about 3db for fronts and it made a big difference with detail! May do the same to center not sure yet.

Hi Filipe, I just bought an SR7012 and found something odd that I'm hoping you can help with. I have an SR6006 as well, and when I turn that receiver on, after the second power "click", every speaker is virtually DEAD SILENT to the point I've left it on 24 hours by accident, because with the display turned off, I don't even know it's on. By the way, this is with an unpowered input selected, meaning no sound through the receiver. Now fast forward to the 7012. When I turn it on, after the second click, I hear a faint white noise out of the tweeter of each of my 7 surround speakers. Meaning, it's not dead silent, you can definitely hear an audible sound as you approach the speakers. Almost like a soft "ssssshhhh" sound. My girlfriend said if I didn't point it out, she wouldn't have noticed it. If you are still using the 7012, would you mind checking out what I've mentioned and report back whether yours is dead silent or a faint sound? Thank you

Hi, I'll have a look later as mine turns on automatically when I power my TV so plays sounds straight away never turned on with the TV off but I'll try after work and let you know. Thanks

@@filipe_dc5936 Sounds good, I'll look forward to your findings. The sound is subtle, so important to put your head to the speakers without ambient noise in the room.

@@uscstyle hi, just tested and mine makes that noise to but only can ear when place ear next to the tweeter, maybe is all of this model.

@@filipe_dc5936 Thank you for testing this. I think you're right, this was an inherent part of the design of this gen amp.

Hey just wondering why did you buy an amp with so many channels when only running a set of towers? Or was you going to buy more speakers. Could I have more videos of these towers as I think I'm about to buy a pair!

Thanks for the video, I would be most grateful if you would get back to me concerning this question, does the marantz 7012 have HDMI 2.1 with e-arc? At the moment I've got the Sony STR 1080, but like you I wish to have the Dolby vision as well, as the Dolby Atmos, but for me to enable me to have the full Dolby Atmos( While streaming) obviously, I need to get the Dolby Atmos enabled TV which is the LG OLED E9 which has the HDMI 2.1 with e-arc, also how user-friendly was it shifting from the Sony to the marantz it seems you are the ideal person to answer my questions moving from Sony to marantz.

Im currently running the same sony you have and now considering buying this same Marantz sr7012 because of the price currently 1699 or the new sr7015 at 2299 on Amazon and best buy my question is is it worth it to have only dtsx and auro 3d on the 7012 and 200 watts per channel or have any of the new features on the 7015 that doesn't come w/ dtsx pro and has 125 watt thru 9 channels and 8k upscale i was just looking maybe for a 1yr update on the performance and operation of your 7012 cuz i don't have a problem buying last year's models at a reduced price? Thanks hope to hear a response or thoughts on my query.

Do you know what the difference is between the 7012 and 6012
@filipe_dc59365 жыл бұрын
The only difference I can see is the amplifier on the SR6012 is 185w per channel and the SR7012 is 200w and also the SR6012 doesnt have AURO 3D sound apart from that I think is the same. Thanks

I had the SR6012 and brought it back in favor of the SR7012... Physically: The SR7012 has a large illuminated front screen that is easier to read and has way more information. The 7012 also has an illuminated blue ring around the porthole, and the receiver is much bigger. Internal: The 7012 has 125 Watts of true power (8 ohms 20-20.000@0.05 distortion continuous) The 6012 has 110 watts of true power (8 ohms 20-20,000@0.08 distortion continuous) Comes with Auro 3D included, and has an even warmer and richer sound compared to the 6012. (Although both are excellent and accurate and pretty close) The 7012 comes with an instant 2 channel music menu that can be configurable or automatic for quick switching to 2 channel listening (with sub). I think the 7012 has an even more detailed and sophisticated sound compared to the 6012. They must do something to the tuning of the receiver because it definitely sounds a bit better than the 6012. Not a lot, but noticable... But as I said, both are excellent performers. Marantz has the best most accurate sound of any AVR today. Especially for music. I've tried them all, Onkyo, pioneer, Sony, even Denon. Denon is the same company but their receivers lack HDAM and current feedback technologies which control the music and make it sound beautiful. Hope this helps.
