How is this machine with using vinyls and leather? I'm stuck between this machine and janome hd9 and brother pq1500. Is this more of a quilting machine or can make alot of different things with it?

I've used it with vinyl and it works great. It will comfortably sew 2 layers of vinyl and 2 layers of canvas. I've tested it with 4 and 6 layers of vinyl and it works. 4 is good 6 is pushing it and it did do 8 but you'll stress the machine if you sew that much regularly. But I ran leather through it now too and it's great with that as well. Just make sure you get a Teflon foot for it. I don't use it for that no more now. I got an industrial for my vinyl and leather bags. Since I have blown a motor in this model before. But I sew more than average.

@@TiffanysQuiltingLife k thanks. I'm stuck on the decision with which one but the Janome is so much more in price.

I was watching Miss Becca last night on her live and asked her what machine she and Ian would suggest for bag making and she suggested this one. I'm leaning more towards the other Juki you have or even up from there. I don't want to jump in and then wish I had got the machine with more bells and whistles so to speak. If I can afford to go bigger (up to $2,500), do you think I should? Or do you think since I am still just a few years into sewing, I should start off smaller...like say a $200 HD Singer from Wally World? I would appreciate any feedback you can offer. Thanks

I currently own the Brother Dream Machine 2 Innovis 8550D and plan on keeping it as my main machine.

I would say this one if your making bags and you already have another machine you do everything else with. It also depends on what kind of bags you wanna make. This will sew through vinyl, leather, cork, canvas and so on. But more and more layers (especially leather) you would be better off with the DU-1181N that I have as well. If you just plan to do easy cotton and mix cotton and vinyl bags or what have you, then I would say this TL-2010Q is a great choice and you save some money since it's under your price point. That allows ya to buy bag making supplies and such.

What do you think about this machine for bag making??
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
It's great for making bags. I did however get an industrial now for bags so I can work through leather and vinyl better and save this machine here for piecing quilts only.

Hey Tiff. Is there a benefit to owning the Juki HZL F-600 and the Juki TL 2010Q?
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
One is strait stitch only that I use exclusively to piece with and the f600 is just for things like decorative needs with like applique and such. Or as a back up haha
@DonnellsStitchery Жыл бұрын
@@TiffanysQuiltingLife OK that's what I thought but wanted to make sure. I have the HZL F-600 and she's my main work horse. I also have a brother sewing/embroidery machine (use her for making quilt labels and a backup). Also have my original Singer from Walmart about 20 years ago.

It's good to have more than one machine. They all are assigned to do something specific 😉
