Michael Benvenga was Peter's bandmate in Chelsea and Lips, two bands peter was in before he was in Kiss. Michael died during production of the solo albums, which is why Peter's is dedicated to him.

Great unboxing video for the boxset! I got mine back in July while the Sound of Vinyl had a sale on top of marking down the price for the boxset. The boxset when it first came out was 200 dollars and I got it for a little less than 100. The records sound fantastic and the packaging is well done. It was totally worth it for that price. My favorite album has to Ace’s. It’s flawless in my opinion and he’s my overall favorite member of the band’s history. Love your videos Matt! Keep em’ Comin.

This brings back such memories. I still listen to KISS these days and I still favor the early era up to Creatures of the Night, but I don't know if I'm as big a fan as I was back then.

I've got this and the 4 picture discs as well! I thought it was very well done and am very happy to have it in my collection! Also got the glow in the dark vinyl from them yesterday which is really really cool!

Paul's album is the strongest one, but there are gems on all the albums. Peter Criss' song Don't You Let Me Down is a really good song, and I think that his album is the second best. Despite having the biggest hit, Ace's album wasn't all that. But, been a long time since I had a listen.

Yeah, Peter's album has its fans. I have a drummer friend who simply worships that album and praises its merits, so there must be something about it that I'm missing. Thanks for weighing in.

Oh yeah' Peter Criss's That's The Kinda Sugar Papa Likes is hands down better than Ace Frehley's Rip It Out or Fractured Mirror. Really????

I bought the original solos on picture disc on day of release, still have them as well as all my vinyl albums I have bought from my earliest days. Paul and Ace's are my favourites, but I still listen to Gene and Peter's depending on my mood that day. Btw Fractured Mirror on Ace's album to me sounds like a expansion of the intro to Rock Bottom from the Dressed To Kill album

Cool set, I remember the posters on my bedroom wall. I don't think we got the albums in coloured vinyl in the UK, but we did get picture disc albums, and 7" singles in coloured vinyl. From memory (I'm going back to being 14 here) the colours don't seem as vivid as I remember.

I've seen pics of those 7" singles and thought about chasing after them. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. They came with paper masks, if I'm not mistaken. Anyhoo, thanks for commenting.

Brilliant, mate! I'm a huge KISS fan and really like the solo albums; both the concept and the music. I don' think it was a gimmick at all, just a chance for each member to branch out and do their own thing. I enjoy all of them, but it's hard for me to rank them. Ace's is probably my favourite, and I always hover between Peter and Paul's as my second favorite. I think I like Peter's a lot because it's so different to the others, but you're right, Paul's features some really strong songwriting. Really stunning colored vinyl, posters and packaging, and definitely worth the purchase! Keep up the great work...I'm really enjoying your videos!

Thought about picking this one up but the KISS color vinyl pressings are getting real outta hand and limited these days. Also I definitely don’t need doubles of all the solo records lol. I see a few people selling the box by itself, I’d maybe just get that and house my original solo albums in it. Some of that Double Platinum stuff looked cool.

The limited thing is really crazy. I missed out on the last three KISS colored vinyl records because they sold out in as soon as a couple days. I mean, who knew even Unmasked would sell out? Anyhoo, Walmart's doing a colored Love Gun, so there's that to consider. Ugg. It never ends.

So, you liked Paul's more because it was more Kiss-like, where for me, that is why I liked it least, it was just more Kiss. I loved the ones that were more diverse and less Kiss-like. From a strictly music standpoint, removing it from all things Kiss-like, as a stand alone album, I've always liked Peter's most, or at least very close second to Ace's. I'd love this box set, but it is way out of my price range sadly.

Peter's album really does have some devoted fans, and I think that's great too. I'm not on board, but neither do I need to be for someone to really dig the record. It's fun to see the different reasons for liking each album from listener to listener. Thanks for checking in, Jeff.

Paul's album sounds too much like KISS because he was their main singer. Gene's and Peter's albums are as far removed from KISS as they can be. Ace's album (like Ace himself) is in a category all it's own. He absolutely shined on that album and I consider it the very first of his solo career. I love them all. But Ace is at the top of those 4 for me. If it wasn't for Ace, KISS wouldn't have had some of their greatest songs from the early days.

There's some truth there, for sure. Ace wrote some classics that he, in turn, had other members sing on... until Shock Me, of course. He was a valuable member of that early era of the band -- indispensable in many respects. Thanks for the input.

Curious why 3 of the vinyls are marbled while 1 (Gene's) is not. Gene's red vinyl is by far the nicest for that reason. The other 3 colors are kind of dull. Very disappointing.
