The flat bills are a completely different design of hat it's not just how you wear them, bending a flat bill would just permanently ruin the hat

Thanks for recognizing that. I'm definitely at home right now doing this out of my own interest and care for Jeff's following. It just warms our hearts here at Lansky to see people get pumped about sharp metal objects!

No emergency shelter, no container for water, and a whopping 10 feet of cordage from a bracelet. At least when hypothermia/dehydration inevitably set in the paracord might be long enough to hang oneself.

LifeWater makes a water container unnecessary. Unless you're trying to survive in an area with no nearby lakes or ponds. Then yeah I suppose you're a bit screwed.

That's definitely a reason to buy a company's products. I've been watching Jeff's videos since 2008. There's definitely a lot of Cutlerylover heart imbedded in the office here at Lansky. Thanks for your support Lee.

if you like spring multi tools get the Gerber suspension it has no spring but has some sort of hidden suspension in it it's really inexpensive it's only like $35

It's made of about a 240+ Denier nylon. The stitching is adequately tight. There's no frame in the bag, so if you like something stiffer, either throw in a rifle plate or fill up your hydration bladder with air (blow through the tube) as you drink the water. The bladder filled with air/water will allow for some stiffness to manage the weight distribution of whatever's in your pack. Otherwise, this bag is very flexible and could be bundled into a ball if nothing's inside. Cheers!

the carbide sharpeners scrape way too much metal off your edge ruining the bevel and your angles, if you need to get an edge on a butter knife in 5 seconds sure it will work but its crude and you need a ton of work afterwards to fix what it does to the edge

paired with a hatchet or ax its not really necessary, but of course even as they say this is a basic kit to be fine tuned for everyones needs
@LanskySharpeners

1075 steel. We've thrown that axe through some hard tests and it's done fine. No shattering or spontaneous combustion that's we've reported. I could prefer a little higher carbon content, but it's hard to feel the difference. If it doesn't perform for you, definitely let us know.

initail impression is the kit is worth wild but the price may be a bit much for whats in there, the idea is perfect if you swapped out a few items...I didnt show the other items included like the fire steel and the puck sharpenener

We love to see the creativity. Our intended P.O.U. (Philosophy Of Use) for that square would be for holding the bits included in the sheath. Good luck opening those doors! You may just want to use the philips head to do a complete knob replacement.

Haha jeff i completely agree with you on the hats! The bill is only manufactured flat simply because its easier to manufacture...youre supposed to bend it when you buy it so it actually fits your head and keeps the sun from your eyes

Believe me Jeff, I hear what you're saying. I think companies should do more stuff like this to get their product out there in order to increase sales. I myself have a small side business also. I think Lansky makes a great line of sharpening products and would definitely look into purchasing one if I were looking to do so. What I see here, at least at first glance, is a company throwing together a piece of kit in order to jump on board with a trend.

At first glance, seems like it would be a decent "starter" bob bag. For someone like me, it would provide a good foundation to build off of. My financial situation prevents me from being able to build a nice one, but this would get the job done for a short while I would imagine.

I dont have a bias for reviews looking at it I assume the knife.multitool, and flashlight are all chinese made crap, but I wont know until I use it, and crap to me is great for someone else, not everyone can afford to put together a bob for $1500...and when you get top notch stuff the bills add up fast

carbide sharpeners take alot of extra metal off each time you use them so it damages your blade more than a stone or ceramic.

199 does seem like a hefty sum. Went to their site, and the axe is about 90 bucks, 20 bucks for the knife. So, that is adding up real fast. I like the idea of a prefab BOB, but that is only a primer to a true BOB, imho.

I've heard them referred to as aspherical lenses. Really I like to say the flashlight has an optic instead of a reflector. I don't think "convex" would be false, though.

I really just like watching Jeff open boxes, there is something exciting about opening new stuff, even when you know whats in it. Strange. Am I wierd? Maybe I shut it off a little early, but I don't remember you stating on the open box video what the price of the product was? That would have been nice in the first half somewhere. If you did, i missed it. Love the vids though, keep them coming.

i love my lasky sharpening system, but i dont like it when companies make things out of there comfort zone. i wouldent buy a lansky knife or multi tool. just like i wouldent buy a glock hunting rifle (if they made one). companies that make a good product of one kind usaly make crap for anything else. if you read this jeff what do you think?

Futhermore, I still look forward to your review. What I said are my own initial impressions of what I've seen and I think my predictions will hold true. I think it comes down to perceived value. At $200 I cant justify it. For the same money I can purchase quality (not expensive) tools and have the same system in place.A good example are my Mora knives. A high quality product for a good price. I didn't think a $12 knife would become one of my top 3. Again, thats good value.

Hmm; I thought that that multitool looked familiar. It's a Ganzo 310-model, supposed to have a knifeblade made of 440c-steel, according to a certain homepage. I will probably get one for myself later on! Check out Ganzo's G712-folder.It's a REALLY good clone of the Benchmade Bedlam. :D Keep them vids coming dude!

The flat bill hats are a completely different thing that baseball hats. They have a different design with different measurements so bending it would actually just ruin the whole hat. Which for me would suck because I have a 70$ flat bill.

I agree with your point, I just dont like the execution. Jumping on a trend and putting out a good quality product is great. I've done it personally. But I think doing something just for the sake of doing something, well, just dont bother doing it in the first place. And its not a personal thing nor am I angry. I welcome debate. But these are my observations about this particular product. I think its a great idea, but hastily done.

and thats good buisness, and all buisness do the same thing, when trends hit the scene companies try to keep up with whats going on...is there something wrong with that? Im not trying to defend them but peopel forget if you dont like somethgin like a product simply dont buy it, thetres no need to put it down and get angry about it, not that your angry but many people actualy take it personal?

Eh idk I’m still sold on the leatherman EOD or M300 for gun maintenance they just look sexy and I can change out the c4 punch . Axe is nice but I think I’m going to go with the crkt long handle mountain man style hatchet if it was used in the olden days for living it can do the job now plus I know you can throw them I’ve thrown them use to go to mountain man shows old friends did . Etc etc the bag is nice but now days a bag with a ccw pouch is way better always . Just my opinion. But cool none the less sharpener with wood block I’ll look in to for sure thanks .

It is likely that Gerber uses some of our same sources. Meaning the tooling, materials, and quality will be similar or darn right identical. This is the unfortunate truth of outsourcing. Lansky is not, in any way, partnered with Gerber.
