How is soundbar sounds? Could you record test on music, TV channels, films? There are equalizer and sound will be better if a little change it.

Hi, first the sound of the soundbar was bit confusing. Because i had the feeling that when people where talking the volume went really low, especally when there was a scene in a room or a hall there was some weird echo. But then i made some changes at the settings. I changed the centre speaker volume from 0 to +3 and the height speaker volume from 0 to -1. Now its so much better for me. And when i put on an external subwoofer to the the sound is really great. Im really happy now. :)

One of users on avforums wrote that when total level of sound is low this center speaker playing too loud and harsh (sharp). But when change total volume to more than 10/12, soundbar starting play in its right designed sound. Could you also try on different levels and and how you settings that you changed helps in this. It is interesting because if sometime I will need hear on law level I wish to have also good sound. If you can please also try how will be upscaling from old quality videos. SD 16:9, SD 4:3 or DVD, 720p. Switch Noise filters OFF and set to Standard mode. Only Mpeg 2 noise filter can be on Minimum or on Middle. In picture size set "Original". As result if you will have 4:3 video it will be not stretched it on full screen and will be original size as was film was recorded.

@@for-line @FOR I made some sound setting changes today and i figured out that if you put on auto volume mode you have those strange levels of sound. So when auto volume is acctivated its really hard to understand people talking in an action sequence. I guess the systems decides that the background action is more important and so the center speaker is much lower than the height speaker volume. It changes when the action is over. When you are on film mode and you put on auto volume this effect is really extreme in my opinion. So i would recommend to deactivate the auto volume mode and set the sound settings by yourself. I had no big impacts changing the volume with my settings. It was a good sound even at volume 8. Upscaling with lower quality works quite good for me. Only at football games when the camera zooms out and you see the players from a big distance there are some artifacts around the players in SD. But in movies like antman and the wasp the quality was okay not as good as in HD but you can watch it. Also at DVDs like X-Men Origins Wolverine. You can't expect HD quality but it's watchable.

Do you hear that after switching off auto level sound and dialogues became better? Is this film only on TV channels also same? Is this possible to have different sound settings for Android TV player and for HDMI inputs and channels? I tried in TV shop 65oled806 and Sony 65a90j. I tried to find which is better. Unfortunately they not stayed close to each another. In this condition not so easy compare them. But what I remember that Philips colors type, Player is more close to me. Sony with Google TV need time. Picture on Sony was like boring in the beginning and not interesting to watch. I changed some settings and after that became better but Philips from beginning is already gives more interesting image. About upscaling between them difficult to say. Some people telling that Sony doing best Upscaling. During my tests I can 100 % sure about that. One more thing is that when video is soft and I tried to increase Sharpness on Sony I start quickly see not good artifacts. But on Philips I find that Sharp on 6-7 even better on some videos. Faces are sharp and roads also. Even 9 -10 was not too bad on 806 on some video. Looks like different algorithm between them.

@@for-line In my opinion there is a total difference between auto volume activated and not. When I'm watching a movie or a TV show i can hear the difference. But its hard to say if it's just me or my 936. My wife can hear the difference aswell and she prefers the settings without auto volume just like me. But it's also possible that they will change something after an update. But for now i'm having the best experience with my settings. If you liked the 806 than im pretty sure you will love the 936. Its just one step further cause of the evo panel and the better image processor.

I would say it's definitly one of the best this year. But Sonys A90J, LGs G13 and Panasonics JZW2004 are also very good OLED TVs. So i guess its customers choice which one you would prefer.

Hallo Freezer, bin auch am 65 Zoll 936 interessiert. Leider gibts den bei uns nirgends vor Ort... Konnten Sie ggf. Vergleiche in Bezug auf die Bildqualität zum Sony A80j und A90j machen? Man hört immer wieder, dass Sony in Sachen Upscaling ganz weit vorne ist.

Hallo René, das habe ich auch schon oft gelesen. Leider fehlen mir aber die Vergleichsprodukte wie den A80j und A90j um dies selbst bestimmen zu können. Da ich hauptsächlich streame oder HD-Sender schaue, war mir die Upscaling Funktion von SD-Inhalten auch nicht so wichtig. Habe aber dies auch schon geprüft und bin mit dem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden, auch wenn mir wie gesagt der direkte Vergleich zu den Sony TVs fehlt.

Viel Dank für die schnelle Antwort. Bin am Ambilight interessiert, sonst würde ich sofort bei Sony zuschlagen. Vom Sound hört man auch gemischte Meinungen. Mein Plan war den TV ohne weitere Boxen zu benutzen. Die Fernbedienung wird auch häufig bemängelt... Bin mir mittlerweile unsicher und am Zweifeln ob der Philips den Preis wert ist... Darf man fragen was Sie in etwa bezahlt haben und wie Sie die allgemeine Qualität einschätzen?

@@Rene-fb2dk Ambilight war bei mir auch ein ausschlaggebender Punkt, weshalb ich speziell nach einem Philips Fernseher gesucht habe. Die Soundbar war mir nicht ganz so wichtig, jedoch bin ich positiv überrascht und finde den Sound echt gut. In einem anderen Kommentar hab ich bereits erwähnt, dass ich es am Anfang etwas merkwürdig fand, dass bei Dialogen eine Art Echo zu hören war, speziell in Räumen. Das konnte ich in den Einstellungen korrigieren, nachdem ich den Auto Volume Modus, also die automatisierte Soundsteuerung des Gerätes deaktiviert und eigene Soundeinstellung vorgenommen habe. Jetzt finde ich den Sound echt super. Ich habe zusätzlich noch einen Teufel Subwoofer eingesteckt, was den Sound nochmal besser macht. Also was den Sound mit der Soundbar angeht, kann ich mich nicht beschweren. Probleme mit der Fernbedienung höre ich ehrlich gesagt auch zum ersten Mal. Ich finde sie sehr wertig verarbeitet, der Lederbezug an der Rückseite wirkt edel und die Hintergrundbeleuchtung der Tasten bei Dunkelheit ist auch sehr praktisch. Also auch hier eher keine Mängel von meiner Seite feststellbar. Ich habe mich aber speziell für den 936 anstatt bspw. für den 806 aufgrund des neuen Evo Panels und des verbesserten Bildprozessors entschieden. Bezahlt habe ich für den Fernseher 2.730 Euro.

Bei der Fernbedienung wurde die fehlende Haptik bemängelt. Es sei alles zu glatt. Könnte mir schon vorstellen dass das nervig sein könnte. Aber Ok... ist kein Ausschlusskriterium. War das ein Black Week Angebot? Teilweise werden hier ja deutlich über 3000€ abgerufen... Danke für Ihre Infos...

@@Rene-fb2dk Okay, den Punkt kann ich nachvollziehen, obwohl er für mich jetzt nicht so schwer wiegt. Zur Not könnte man ja noch eine andere Fernbedienung bestellen, wenn es wirklich so stört. Aber ist denk ich eine Geschmacks- und vielleicht auch Gewöhnungssache. Es war tatsächlich ein Angebot eine Woche vor dem Black Friday. Ich hatte eigentlich auf einen guten Preis zum BF gehofft und mir 2600 bis 2700 als Wert gesetzt wo ich zuschlagen würde. Habe dann regelmäßig bei Google die Preise geprüft und dann war kurzzeitig ein Angebot drin zu dem Preis. Da hab ich dann direkt zugeschlagen, weil die Verfügbarkeit so eingeschränkt war, dass ich nicht mehr groß die Hoffnung hatte zum BF ein besseres Angebot zu finden.

People should ask if the picture quality is as good as Samsung. LG and Sony. Its great having good sound and Ambilight but if the picture is inferior , then its a con for the high price.. If the picture measures up to expectstions , then its a good all round tv combination.. but check agaunst other brands before you are taken in by the sound and Ambilght. The picture is the most important thing on an oled tv..
