*If you’re looking for pin display ears, these are not it...* Did Loungefly really not test these ears at all? Despite the non-functionality of the “pin trading” ears, I really like them as just ears themselves. For the balloon ears, I wish the ears were slightly larger and better spaced apart, but headbands are super comfortable.

I was wondering about these ears when I saw them, but it wasn't likely that I was going to buy them. Thank you for reviewing for curious buyers. Sucks that they don't work. Every other loungefly product I've really loved however!

The quality is the same great level you expect from Loungefly, but functionality is zero, lol

I think if you used locking (screw on) pinbacks that it would be possible to securely display pins on these ears! Though that would be a pain if you were using them as pin TRADING ears

Hey Emily! Love the review! I was considering getting the pin headband from Loungefly but it doesn’t seem very practical...still very pretty though! I remember seeing the Disney parks pin ears being previewed at Fairy Tails last year and thinking they were adorable :)

I bought the balloon ears. You know what pins I think would work are the Loungefly minnie ear pins that came in a mystery box last year. The back poked through a cork board of mine. The pin holder ears are disappointing.

I wonder if the pin display ears would have worked better if they had been made with an opening at the top of each ear so that you could put the pin backs in between the two layers? Although it would probably be fiddly and might make them look lumpy.

I noticed you used a metal backing on one of your pins. What pin backings do you use that offer the most security?

I personally always use metal butterfly clasps. I don’t trust locking backs because they can get stuck easily and break posts, and Mickey pin backs have no grip hold.

Emily, be careful with the ballon ears. Disney Cupcake already had the flower fall off. It wasn’t glued very well.

Hmm...that's disappointing with the pin ears...they look cute and are a good idea but there's no way I would trust putting my pins on there and then wearing them in the parks. Maybe if you can cover it with some clear vinyl to hold them on from the front...or I guess if you have some scrappers and want to keep the same ones on all the time, you can glue them on forever...???

I would try to stitch rip the back layer of the pin display ears so it just one layer. But I would also want to replace the bow for something small. So at that point you’re better off just making your own. Disappointed 😔

Unfortunately that would probably just end up ruining the ears with how they’re made, would need to start with a new design from scratch

I dont think I'd ever get a pair of pin display ears even if they did work; pins can fall off anyway, and I'd rather just have them on a lanyard or a jacket.
