Agreed with you 100%. Totally think they should have kept the "battery" weapons. They're part of the figure's charm IMO. Also, I believe the 2007 and 2009 US releases of Laserbeak had the longer barrel weapons which makes their shortening especially unfortunate with more recent releases of that sculpt. Cool video!

Thanks! I believe you're right on those Laserbeak reissues; I guess I was thinking of more recent examples like the Walmart one etc. But yes, 100% the battery weapons are missed. Just to have had the shoulder cannon would have been good, IMO!

Love the overall set and will definitely pop on your shelf. Love the packaging as well, not to mention, the colourful blasts effects will look amazing with the Haslab Deathsarus.

Wow thanks for reviewing this guy. I love those cassettes but I wasn’t so sure about soundwave not having his battery guns. But now that I’ve seen those blast effects in a good picture I think it might be worth it to pick up the j.balvintron. (Though I think j.balvinwave would’ve been a slightly better name)

I was so close to buying this a few weeks back off In Demand toys but they went out of stock the moment I decided to go for it. Oh well. I can see the grumbles with this but I kinda feel like if you get this guy you're getting it to be something eye catching and unique in your collection rather than an actual figure to be fiddled about with.

My J. Balvintron had the same head issue! I'm assuming that when you put Vibras Stripes in the cassette deck that the toothbrush becoming visible was done on purpose by the designers?

Why did they change the buttons on the G1 Soundwave and subsequent repaints? The original looks better imo. Assuming it breaks less now or something

Agreed! This was almost certainly done to simply the construction and save a fraction of a cent per unit. Not being cynical…just how it works in the world of manufacturing.

@@SixoTF He's a reaggaeton singer, a latin genre that's infamous for having extremly sexist and mysoginistic lyrics, I don't mind sexuality being a part of music, it's a part of what being human is, what I don't like is how crass and vulgar they are. That and all their music has the exact same percussion and beat, which means that all the songs blend together a lot and end up sounding the same.
