Cant wait for the bookshelf tour! Im always excited for my illumicrate sub i think mainly for the surprise! The mug isnt my favourite out of the ones i have but i will always take a mug nonetheless! The pouch is really lovely i think im going to put makeup in it. I wish the bookmarks were foiled and i wish the calendar was in the same format as last years one as i cant write on this one! But i love the art on it!❤

I do love Illumicrate when they get it right - I love their redesigns and their ceramic items. Their skip policy is the only reason I’m able to keep the sub though, I’ve skipped 9 boxes this year due to book picks 🙈 BUT their Evernight & Afterlight subs suited me really well this year…so swings and roundabouts (whatever that means) 🥰

I never use calendars either. But if the artwork is nice, I always cut them out and place them in their respective books as alternate endpaper artwork

I was really pleased with the items this month! Unfortunately this will be my last box as I’ve cancelled my subscription, though I’m hoping to get onto the fairyloot subscriber list next year 🤞🏻

Oh my gosh, I had no idea this had even shipped until you posted this! Just ran across to the post office and picked mine up so I can unbox it at the same time (I’ve always wanted to do that 😂)

Now I’ve unboxed 😊 I love the makeup bag, I did actually need a new one as mine just broke. I also love the foiling on the cover and the naked hardcover of the book. I didn’t really care for anything else but it’s my own fault because I meant to skip this box as I’m not really a sci fi fan and I knew I wouldn’t want the mug or calendar but I just ran out of time

I haven’t had an Illumicrate subscription in about two years because I feel like they don’t nearly as much as other book boxes and I constantly find myself disappointed. It makes me really sad as they used to be my favorite subscription, but they haven’t had any absolutely divine books or sets in awhile in my opinion and their customizations don’t compare.

I loved this box so much. Only thing I didn't like were the bookmarks but thats cuz I have no interest in men 😂 The endpapers gave me serious Guardians of the Galaxy vibes which i loved

@Wanderness I hope to become like that one day, I usually think about skips last moment. All of it feels like gambling honestly, there are some books you can get cheaper on Vinted and then there's one in 20 that goes for 120 EUR. It makes deciding hard!

I skipped most of last year for Illumicrate and so far I have skipped the Evernight box for January and have also skipped the books for Jan-March as they are just not books on my radar. I am only clinging on as they are promising a spectacular book for their 10th anniversary whenever that month falls and they are saying they will be bringing something special that they have never done before… Anyone know when their actual anniversary month is?

Ooooo you just reminded me…the Romantasy book. Yes the binding is different AND they have used a different sort of paper but the binding is done like it is to give a more comfortable read. The pages I have been assured will not drop out as they are secured right in. To get the right look for the hardcover that’s why a different paper was needed to be used.

been loving these daily videos!!! 🤍 I still feel like illumicrate is the strongest box + items sub and I appreciate their very generous skip policy, so I will continue to stick with them for that reason 😊 2024 has definitely not been their strongest year but I have a lot of faith in them for 2025!

I've been pretty hit or miss about Illumicrates book choices this year, but this was a book i WAS actually interested in and I think they did a lovely job with it. But i skipped this box lmao, because they said ahead of time this would have bookmarks, the calendar and the mug and I didn't want any of those 😂 and I was correct, now that I've seen the items the only thing I would've liked was the bag and the book itself. Since they allow so many skips I'm not going to cancel yet, but Illumicrate is def on the chopping block for me. 🫣

I bet you could find the book cheaper second hand than you would new though. I'm probably going to skip most of next year to be honest, for reasons I've noticed in tomorrow's video 😬
