i’ve been really into the reissues that companies like es emerica and dc are putting out lately. i grew up skating in the era where vulc shoes were most popular and i always wished the industry would go back to having more support and durability in skate shoes like they did in the 90s and early 2000s. i’m really hyped to start skating my 197s and creagers and muskas to see what a skate shoe really could be

@@RealLifeSkater i got the axion genesis midtop and even to walk around in they feel pretty hard to break in and like more elevated than my other cupsoles. i have a bunch of old emerica g6s that are cupsoles but way slimmer than the reissues so im getting used to it that way

I loved them back in the day, I had these but the original color way the red was a orange color. My friend had the Koston ones, so I got these and they were to tech for him, lol they were my all time fav ES shoe Id wish would get re issued

I’m not sure if you mean these ones or not, but they are coming out with the black/yellow combo. They also have a white navy that just came out. But the one you’re talking about the yellow ones… It might even be orange, it sort of looks like orange yellow. Anyway… They were definitely super tech! I remember me and my friend we’re all hyped off the first Kostons… And then came out and of course we had to get them. We saw they were super different and opinions were split, but the hype was still there… Everyone had them!

the sole is based off the Evant shoe which is fair since the Evant was based off the K3s. The insole can be better. They sell the foam separately which sucks. I'd get rid of the stock insole and put some good insoles and you're good.

Those do look clean actually. Something about the two tone on the side of the white/navy or the grey/yellow ones really resembles the original K2s more to me though. Overall, those colors don’t look as good as the white or blacks, but they just remind me of actual K2s more idk why

I bought these. I had the black and red ones back in the day. I liked the old sole better even with the runner toe. I remember they gave me a blister on my Achilles tendon lol.

I bought them. They are a half size smaller than their other shoes. Also, the shoe is very stiff. The sole is not comfortable. I remember the original having a running sole. This is not that. The original had squishy foam, this shoe is just hard on the foot. Not a fan, and that sucks because I LOVED the original K2. I had the same yellow/black ones. The nostalgia is there, that’s why I bought them, but it’s just not the K2 we remember. Also, my laces were stained red from the tongue when I received them, not good quality. To me they just fell short which sucks because I love éS.

I noticed that with the laces too! Forgot to mention it. There was a small part that was stained red a little but I was able to hide it and twist it so it wasn’t seen. It’s def a stiffer shoe. I don’t remember the K2 enough to recall if it was squishy or not but I’ll take your word. I mean, the time K2 came out skate shoes were making tons of $$$ and éS probably reflected that in the materials they used. Maybe had to cut some corners in 2024, idk. I agree the nostalgia is there and really that’s why I got them. I love éS too. The Muskas seemed spot on… but I can’t tell if they (Muskas) were stiffer than the original ones or not. I feel like maybe the new materials they use these days aren’t as high quality

@@RealLifeSkater nah brother , tj rogers was at this event i worked recently . after the event he left them near me when i tried to give em back he told me to keep em lol so after realizing theyre too small i decided to learn more about them , only to discover theyre a sample pair (stitched on insole ) but ill have to wait to eventually buy a pair lol . id post a picture but youtube dont know how lol

Yeah they do. I just ordered a pair. I didn't realize they were coming out until I noticed a email that they were released. I got it around 10am but didn't notice it until like 3pm. I wasn't sure if they had sold out by then. But I checked and they still had a lot of sizes left.

Are these true to size ? I got my one nine 7 in a 9.5 and they fit great same thing with the creager reissue. I normally wear a 9 most of the time in es shoes. In the evant and the tribo models im a nine. Should i get a size 9 my true to size or go half a size up?

I’m a size 12 and got my 197s in 12 and 11.5. Both fit good. In the 298 I got a 11.5 and it’s a TAD snugger than the 197 but still fits fine. I’ve never heard of anyone going UP a size in any of these éS reissues but maybe I haven’t heard that info… ? I’d say stick to your size. BUT if you’ve been going up .5 in the reissues and like it, then maybe that’ll work for you on these as well?

I wish they would have just exact copied the koston 2s the best skate shoe IMO when they came out everyone hated but I loved them the blue and white color way... sucker's were 120 bucks tho... in 1999 I believe these dropped late 98 but these re issue are not an exact copy :( it's close but not
