Nice shoes! Can you share any tell-tale indicators of a pre-made heel stack?

Thanks. There are two types of premade heel blocks. One is a leather heel stack. It’s usually each layer is the same thickness. When the leather is hand stacked they usually have some variation within the stack. The other heel block isn’t leather. This is easy to spot because it usually quite thick, thicker than most leathers. There is nothing wrong with a premise heel stack, many reputable brands use them, they’re just faster to use in the process. They’re often just used as is, and the heel block is quite straight. Higher end shoes with carve the heel stack to tighten it up and many times add a slight pitch to the heel. This requires skill and time; I don’t look for this on shoes under $750 but occasionally am surprised.

Thanks. I’m sure green looks great too. Fit on high vamp shoes is tricky because it needs to be pretty tight out of the gate and break in to perfect. If you go with a good fit on purchase they can wind up getting too big. It all depends on stretching and slinking into the cork bed which unfortunately I don’t have the time on the hoof to comment on yet. Good reminder though. I need to wear them.
