You don't always have to spend several thousand euros for a 1 : 32-scale model railway locomotive. KM1-Modellbau from Lauingen (Bavaria) has delivered a model with the class 98.75 series (Bavarian D VI) that could be pre-ordered for a moderate 890 euros. Made of die-cast zinc and precision-cast brass, the locomotive weighs 1058 grams and is 21.5 centimeters long.
The prototype of this model was delivered in 30 copies by the Maffei company from 1880 to 1885 for use on Bavarian local railway lines. The locomotive variant shown in the video was delivered in 1883 under the name "Berg" (translation mountain) and was probably delivered to the peat factory in Raubling near Rosenheim (Bavaria) as early as 1927. It remained in use there until 1965 and also had numerous special missions - including in 1964 for recordings for the film adaptation of the Ludwig Thoma novel "Tante Frieda - Lausbubengeschichten" (Aunt Frieda - rascal/rogue stories) - and the coloring of this model probably corresponds to this paintwork for the filming according to the railway - Epoch I.
The "Berg" (mountain) remained under steam until its hundredth birthday in 1983 and is now in the railway museum of the DGEG (German Society for Railway History) in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse (Germany).
