I got a Lodge 7qt dutch oven in Cherry for 100 bux, hardly used it outside of soup, so like 4 times a year. Said ok its due to the size, so then i bought the Le Creuset 5.5qt dutch oven in Peche and used it 3 times a week mostly making roost type dishes. Now i want a 4qt Staub to make my Jamaican rice and pea's, and this video have convinced me to do just that. So soon ill have 3 major dutch oven brands in my kitchen by total mistake. Gotta love the american shopper. Thanks.

I totally get it! I used by big Le Creuset for big stews and soups and roasts. Now, I use this smaller one much more often! It serves my family well! You are definitely gonna love this one! It's great for smaller batches. 🤗 Jamaican rice sounds amazing! 🤤

Thank you!!! I’m so over the moon! I’m actually sharing a new recipe with it in tomorrow’s video 🤩 What are some of your favorite things to cook in it? Any tips for me?

@@JoyfulYessi I make stuff like chicken noodle soup, beef vegetable soup, beef stew, chicken and dumplings, stuff like that. Oh, I did make coq a vin in it one time ...well, because it's French, you know? LOL . No real tips, it's just like any other dutch type oven - I usually start with a low to medium heat to get it fired up and warm and then just find that perfect spot where it simmers. I have a gas stovetop so I play with it. Oh, keep those little rubberized plastic thingies it comes with that separate the lid from the pot and use them. Less chance of getting a nick in the enamel that way :) Have fun!

@DianePahl Omg! I love this! Thank you for sharing! I’ve never tried coq a vin, definitely want to give something French a try! 😂 BTW thank you so much for the tip on the rubber thingies lol I would have never thought about that! That’s genius! 🥰

@@JoyfulYessi Try coq a vin - it's really not hard - just prep everything ahead of time and follow the directions - step by step. I think the more I make it, it won't seem so daunting - it's just following the steps - give it a shot! And, it's very good.
