You should consider trying to retrobrite those yellowed plastics. Its done on old computer plastics all the time. Will it work for your paticular application, I'm not sure, but hey it may be worth a shot...

Original owner of a 1994 -- US spec. stock FD chiming in. Regarding the Mazda and RX-7 badges, both of mine are on the right side with one on top of the other, slightly offset IIRC. I'm not saying one way is better than another, but that's how mine came from the factory. Beautiful car you have there!!

My car also had body parts and trims that many people say go bad frequently. What I found was that when I am very gentle with them, mine lasted forever. I am sure Mickey will treat his car very delicately, especially parts that often break or wear out prematurely.

Mickey since you can't replace that reservoir you should try using some salon care volume 40 on the yellow plastic and putting it in the sun helps a ton of plastics return to a clear or white finish. Cars coming along can't wait till you got it up and purring

Hey Mickey have you tried deoxidizing the yellow plastic? I'm familiar with a couple of products including Salon Care 40 or Seaglow that are mostly used for removing the yellowing off rubber on vintage Jordans, but I have seen it used on plastic before. One instance I've seen it used is on the plastic panel of bathroom exhausts that have turned yellow. Results may vary, but I would give it a shot if it's something that bothers you.

For the Yellowed plastic, use sneaker sole re-icer!!!!! makes all yellowed plastic/rubber look icey white again

Steps to Whiten the Plastic: Begin by protecting yourself with rubber gloves and goggles. Fill the bucket with hydrogen peroxide. Add ¼ teaspoon of Oxy laundry booster for each gallon of peroxide. If the items can be soaked, place them into the solution and allow them to soak. If they cannot be soaked, wet a paper towel with the solution, squeeze it out so that it’s not dripping, flatten it out again, and press it against the item. It should stick in place on it’s own, but if not, you can cover it with plastic wrap and tape the plastic wrap in place. The soaking time will vary with most pieces whitening in 2-6 hours. The mixture will last for up to four days before it needs to be replaced. Retr0Bright has also developed a way to make this into a gel that can be spread onto the plastic. This is especially helpful for larger items. Set the items under a UV light or out in the sunshine. When the item has reached the desired whiteness, remove and rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining cleaning product residue. If necessary, wash with dish detergent and water.

i dont know if it would work on that yellow tank but i restore discolored legos. to do so we soak them in peroxide in direct sunlight for quite a long time. thought i would throw that out there maybe you try maybe you already know if it works or not. great progress car looks amazing.

For the yellowing of the tank, maybe get one cheap and try to retro-bright it like old game consoles? I wouldn't try it on your good part, just in case.

Try using hydrogen peroxide and wrapping the plastic part with cling wrap and leave it in the sun for a while and the part will look white again. Make sure to rinse the part thoroughly

That reservoir that is now yellowed could be dyed black. Would probably look better than yellow if if it's not oem.
