Thanks for the review. I've been looking at this legendary interface for a long time as my 18i20 is now 8 years old! Still no problems with it haha, but time to bump it up. I just wish UA supported Windows better. The USB Twin hasn't been updated in 6 years (as of 2020).

I got windows 10 with a usbc port. So i got a adapter for my thunderbolt 3 cord, I tried updating the firmware and downloaded the update for thunderbolt driver and the computer says the ua device may not work properly and ua connect app doesn't recognize the interface

I just got my twin duo and i havent had much time with work (trying to make that $$$ back) but ii did search a dozen start-up videos and they eere trash, leading me to thing getting started was gonna be harder then i thought. Depends. Focusrite has really good low budget interfaces. The high tier ones are also really good so technically it's not better, just different (comparing same price class unite). The UA stuff is all pretty pricy and you're basically buying into their plug-in market with this.

I haven't seen any KZbinR talks about workaround for MIDI controller with APOLLO. What are the work around? Is APOLLO mainly for recording vocal and live instruments? Does one has to switch back and forth when using APOLLO as DAW only works with one AUDIO Interface at a time?

At the moment I'm testing an Apollo Solo USB on Windows 11 with Adobe Audition CS6, but there is only the device class MME available and if I switch options in the UA Console, then AA makes some problems. Also the sound settings in Windows would be nice to see in comparison to the AA audio preferences & session settings. Would be nice, if you could show these things or therwise, could you please tell me these things in a comment?

I am lost! You say that the Appollo twin duo works under Windows. Some others say you need an adapter for the USB. And some say that UAD only deal with Mac if you want the best of it! Which is real?!

To my knowledge, yes that is the case. You can use UAD plugins inside of any daw, but they will be processed like any other plugin. You have to use console in order to utilize the DSP.

Hello, you don't have problems with noise when you enter the console with the preamp, headphones and monitors ?, But when I apply a small preamp in the console the noise is reduced but not much, what do you think? register on the interface.

Hello, could you please help me with something ? I am a windows user without thunderbolt. The guy at the store told me not to take the twin usb stating that the converter on the newer solo usb3 was better. So I took Apollo usb3. Now I realize that I cannot use fender twin + another dsp demanding plugin like chamber. Can I record with the fender first then apply on the track a chamber after tracking the fender (don t know it there is a lost in quality in reprinting something …? Is it true that for windows I just have the choice between new Apollo solo usb3 and old Apollo twin usb and that the old Apollo twin usb is less good sounding that the new Apollo solo usb3? Thank you very very much if you could answer. At the end of the day all I wanted was a twin Apollo with usb - but he told me he just has older twin usb that we’re less good than the new Apollo. I think the guy did not have a twin usb and sold me that.

This is the USB version for windows. It’s called a USB 3 SuperSpeed cable, they provide one when you buy the Apollo Twin Duo USB. Other versions such as the MKII require thunderbolt connectivity in your PC which it might not have, so be sure you know which one you’re buying.

Are you able to use it with 2 programs at the same time using ASIO? Example: Are you able to work in your DAW and have Adobe Premiere open, using ASIO on both? I can't do that with my Twin X on Windows (the sound distorts), and UAD can't answer my question.

Is the UA 610 like the stock pres on the interface? That's what Im gathering. So no matter what you would have to choose that even if you are plannin on just using the interface by itself.

Okay so I know this is a huge stretch, but I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with their Apollo twin USB and Fl studio 20. Whenever I click on "Universal Audio Twin USB" under the "Asio" devices, everything works fine until I click on anything. After I click or try to close out of my project, FL crashes on me. It's annoying. I've updated Windows 10/FL/ & UAD everything is up to date.

Yes! I have similar issues with my Saffire Focusrite and Win 10. All you have to do is sync the Windows Run Sampling Rate with the sampling rate you use when recording. E.g. If you run in 44.1k then make sure your Windows is running in 44.1k. "open sound setting" Device Properties "Additional Device Properties" Choose "Advanced" Choose your sample buffer Done

Weird. Make sure you have enough space in your computer. Maybe try googling that error msg. Check system requirements aswell, make sure your computer has the right specs for it.

First, I just want to Thank You for your Vid! And for answering as many Q's folks ask as you do! Many do not do that. My Q: Can I turn off Apollo's Pre? If so, would it sound better, than using a Better Pre if it was "Plugged Into Apollo?" I'm a late comer here. Just got an Aollo Twin USB but, I always used stand alone gear & never yet tried plug ins" yet. Plus, I'm now sure if my "NCH MIXPAD DAW" even supports UA Plugins. (They use VXT or VCX or something). And, Until I can use plug ins; I'm just wondering if I can use ANY of my stand alone gear (pre apollo) and still benefit, by adding on the Apollo? Any Help "Would Be Greatly Appreciated" b/c, I'm a disabled vet w/a TBI. And sadly, my Apollo is still in the box b/c, I'm just not sure how to set up the Apollo (with possibly some of the basic gear that I'm already very used to using). FYI: So far, I've been using just a TLM 103 & Alesis Multi Mix 16 mxr (with it's own effects) for all my vocal tributes... Please Feel Free to check out a few? And if you'd be so kind...
