I bought the 6950 XT XFX model and it’s such a worthy purchase! A card that can last you for soooo long. I’m glad you bought the card for only $500. Amazing deal. It’s sad that many would still be on Nividas side considering they have been increasing the prices of their cards for a while.

I got the XFX MERC 319 version a month ago for 630€. Great card. I feel sorry for my retired 1080ti though. Btw; I would pay for audiobooks if I knew you had voiced them 👍

Nice deal for $500. That is about the price the 6800s are going for new right now. The 6900XT was $1000 when it came out. The 6950XT was $1100 when it came out. I was recently lucky enough to get an open box Power color reference model 7900XT for $684+tax at Microcenter. Worked out perfect because the non reference versions wouldn't fit in my case. Lol.

Really great video dude! Fellow PC gaming hobbyist/enthusiast here. I find it interesting to hear non-tech tuber opinions on GPU's and tech in general as I feel it adds a bit more of a real life angle than you'd get with some of the big boys. Funnily enough I've just now ordered my first ever high end GPU, grabbed a 6950xt for £599 in the UK. I've built a whole new system, including the recent 7800x3d, for the first time and was going to keep my 3060ti but for the price of the 6950xt and what I can get for selling my 3060ti (8Gb VRAM) I just had to take the plunge and go full AMD! (6950xt model: PowerColor Radeon RX 6950 XT 16GB Red Devil) Similar issues with the VRAM on my 3060ti and was another reason for the upgrade. Interesting conversation around potential forced obsolescence from NVIDIA especially with how they have been pushing Ray Tracing and playing games at the highest quality. I'm not super knowledgeable around these discussions but when the prices for GPU's are so high at the moment it's certainly worth doing a lil research around the current market and the issues. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new bit of kit!

You hinted at it very closely, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox series X are both only 16 GB of floating memory but programmers get to program to the metal so they can dedicate 1 to 2 GB of memory to the OS while the rest is dedicated to running the damn game, so in my personal opinion based on my limited programming experience I would say a 12 GB card is the bare minimum nowadays to run at 1080p over 60 FPS High settings

A month ago I bought the PowerSpec G442 from Micro Center. I got a good deal it features this reference GPU and the PC dropped in price by 200 and refunded. On their website as of yesterday the RX 6950 XT sells for 650. After price guarantee difference I got a pretty nice i7-12700KF, 32GB gaming PC for just 1500. The video card has been great with every game I play so far!

Yea I got this card too :) for 499!! It plays all the games needed at top settings.. gets warm but I’ll find a way to cool that

@@mrpicky1868 I’ve not had a single issue with that :) and it looks so good in a blacked out rig.. especially if you like smaller more compact cases.. fits nice in the Nzxt H5 series case

@@mrpicky1868 my hotspot and GPU temp only get really high in Jedi survivor and newer titles like that.. high I mean 70 ish but kept it low by spinning the fans a bit higher and slowing down the exhaust, quickening the intake fans

I also only have a 850w power supply but I've researched online and it seems alot of other people are running high end gpu's fine on 850w as long as you have a quality unit
