Great tutorial. When I painted my Airborne a couple of years ago, I made the deliberate choice to go brighter on the camo patches to make the figures "pop". Just as a bit of rivet-counting, if that figure is based on the officer in that photo then the cap badge is incorrect - he was in charge of one of the Field Security Sections of the Military Police, so the cap badge would have been a brass/bronze crown over cypher within laurels (only Parachute Regiment had the silver wings; everyone else had their normal Corps or regimental cap badges).
@paintingpanzers Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much 😃 I really appreciate it! I completely understand why you'd want your figures to pop! Ah, what a fantastic point! I can't believe I missed that but I appreciate you highlighting it! I will fix it up next time, although, I think the figure has the sculpted Parachute badge so it might a green stuff job 😉

I am working through a reinforced company strength Plastic Soldier Co of Paras. Much easier in comparison as detail does not truly matter as much as the Wargames Foundry figures I had previously. These Empress figures are a step up from them. Beret colour: Vallejo Burnt Red and a Quickshade Soft Tone Wash is as good as the real thing.

Hi great minis and painting. I don't know if you are aware of a technique using a soft pencil (a 3 or 4B)? Try and run it over black weapons to give a slightly metalic tinge, it is quick and works quite well.

@Voight-Kampff2019 Жыл бұрын
I always use Grey Primer from Halfords. £11.99 for a large tin. It has the same light grey colour as your i dervoat, an gives a lovely surface that takes and grips paint perfectly. Only in my opinion of course, everyone has their own preference in undercoat.
