I think some people may be missing the point of this watch. Strictly speaking, I wouldn't even consider it a watch. This is a show of engineering prowess and ingenuity from Jacob & Co. It's a work of art and an incredible achievement in the world of watch making. I don't think it's meant to be casually worn, rather, it's meant to be shown on display and admired, which is most likely why it comes with such an extravagant display box.

i have said this many times elsewhere and i'm going to say it again, this needs to be offered in a pocket watch version. 1) it would almost be usable 2) it would be just as cool, but with the added benefit that you wouldn't look like a dork carrying it 3) the tourbillon would actually serve a horological purpose rather than just being eye candy (not that there's anything wrong with eye candy) 4) the inherent theatrics of pulling this watch from a vest pocket, on a long platinum chain would be the perfect introduction to showing off this ultimate conversation piece. 5) if it WAS available as a pocket watch, i would buy 5 or 6 different versions of it. ok, #5 is complete hogwash, but i stand firm on the other 4

This makes me wonder if you could have a watch brand that made watches that don't actually tell the time, but were just beautiful, intricate moving mechanisms. A $2 digital watch would I'm sure tell the time more accurately than this, so accurate timekeeping is a pretty distant secondary function with watches like this to just being something beautiful and hypnotic.
