It is amazing the sound for $300. With a gig bag! We are fortunate to have instruments like this at a budget price new players can start with.

I bought a D240 ($365.00) at a local shop about three years ago. Just like the D340, you are reviewing, the top was really "white", and while it sounded great in the store, I found it to be kind of dead sounding when I got it home. Fast forward to about a year later, and the top opened up and has turned to a beautiful golden-aged color and it sounds amazing. You have to give these spruce top Guilds a while to open up. Glad I didn't give up on it. This one stays in DADGAD too!!! Cheers

Just received the d-340 yesterday. Sounds great right out the box . Action better tha my 2022 Martin hd-28 I had a certified Martin luthier set up. Plea lot of different acoustic guitars. The guild d-340 is lot better the next day even. Can’t believe it but its more pleasing to my ear than my Martin hd-28 . This really gets you to thinking $3600.00 compared to $268.00 with coupon . SO GLAD ! I watched this video. Thanks. When you saiid your comment about comparing it to your d-18 / Well not going to say what went through my head about you . I will be a number one fan from now on. Thanks ! Jeff Clark from Rockdale Texas .Guild needs to give you a new Guild d-55

Thank you for not saying, that the “high action is set up for Blue Grass players out of the factory.” I also like the, “Factory leaves it like that for personalization.” 😊 Semper Fi

I owned a Guild OM-120 for a while which was a great guitar, regardless of the money. The 200 series I played later on in the stores were nothing special at all. Without playing the 300 series, my gut feel is that they wouldn't be any better than the Yamaha FS 800 and FG 800 which can be purchased for a song on the used market. I will definately give them a play when they are available locally.

300$ guitars are kinda all the same. Just pick which looks better to you.

Great assessments. I agree. The first guitar seems like a much better option than the second for all the reasons you’ve stated. That’s not to say the dread is a bad guitar because it isn’t, but the first one (which also gave me Martin 000 vibes, lol) is just much nicer overall with the finer details someone could hope for in a budget guitar.

OH ! NO! I see now why this guild d-340 sounds so good ! Someone has slipped a guild d-55 in the box and stolen the guild d-340. Those dog - gone thief’s / I won’t my money back. Just amazing what some people will do to get a good review on a guitar. MONEY MONEY MONEY

I love Guild and so sad that everybody needs to ask- Who owns Guild this week? Where are Guild made this week? I have an old Rhode Island Guild maple jumbo that is more cracks and cleats than solid wood but it's still a beaut.
@pmscalisiАй бұрын
Guild just can’t find a home. It’s sad I’ve had some ‘60’s Guilds that were great. I traded a 68 D40 for a 2012 D18, and to this day I don’t remember why I did it. I don’t even have the D18 anymore but I probably should’ve kept the Guild.

None. My bad. Build sent them in gig bags to help me out but it was a mistake.

My new Guild F-55 R - Nat will be delivered tomorrow. I already have a New Hartford, Connecticut F- 412 ATB with DTAR-MS, for 'multi-source'), PU which I really like.

1 11/16 neck --- what Taylor travel and series 100 and 200 use in the Mexico factory; and what Yamaha uses for the student guitars like F01DS and their FG/ FS 800 series. Same for the various Fender acoustics, from the CD 60, CA series, and their Paramount solid body. Question is, is it usual of the Guild brand?

Very curious to see how the OM-320 stacks up against the Orangewood Oliver, or even the Martin 000-15M! One detail I'm confused about is on the website it says no case or gig bag included, but yours came with one? I've bought a Guild OM-240 last year that didn't come with a gig bag (whereas it used to before)

I have an Oliver from 2023 Almost Perfect sale that cost 157.00 delivered w gig back - nice guitar and great sound

Luv luv LUV Guilds, even if they can be had cheaper, especially that OM! Would be nice if they made some lefty, for heck sake. And I have noticed the high saddles, even on some budget Epiphones. I had to shear down the saddle of my Fender CC60, now the action's just right.

They sound like a great value for a $300 solid top acoustic. Jeremy have you ever heard of the band called Low Roar?

I love Guilds too. I have a Guild Gad 50Amb and it has everything i love easy to play good bass nice balance all around actually, I can't afford a U.S one. These 300 series sound good for the price too. One thing I would say about the dreadnaught is, I hate the rosette around the soundhole, not a fan all the rosette they always do on Epiphones, just looks ugly

Both sound like they would be good for camping guitars: after setup. My last Guild went to fire camp with my grandson. I LOVE the 1-11/16" nut.

The OM-320 is a good $300 guitar that looks and sounds the vintage part. The tuners funtion suprisingly well. Mine from Sweetwater did NOT come with a gig bag, it's marketed as sold separately. Fretwork is good, I did have SW set it up for the reasons Jeremey stated. Sapele back and sides. Decent but a builder can only squeeze so much guitar out of $300.
@BrianMcCullarMusicАй бұрын
Not bad but, I think I'd honestly pick an Ibanez Artwood AC340 over the Guild OM-320 for the money but I would still be happy with the Guild OM-320 at this price point, it just wouldn't be my first choice. As for the D-340, it's certainly not bad but a solid spruce top dread with laminate back and sides at $300 is honestly a very crowded market, and I'm not sure I'd pick this over guitars like the Yamaha 820, Washburn HD10S, Alvarez AD30 or Eastman PCH1-D, as I honestly think all of those guitars sound better and I know they come set up much better than the D-340 example they sent you, since the shop I ran was a dealer. All in all, these are probably fine for the cost, by no means the best or the worst, but they mostly serve to satisfy people who want that Guild logo on the headstock and that's totally understandable!

I'm shocked that there are people out there that can only afford a $300 guitar. Or am I missing something? Is this for people that already own multiple guitars and just want to have something that they can drag out to the woods or the beach and not worry about it? Something like that? This can't be someone's main instrument right?

You do realize generations after the boomers have been completely screwed over in the economy, haven't you? Many gen X'ers, most of millennials, gen Z, and etc can barely afford rent and food
