Is this a second channel for you? I don’t see anything else listed, but your content is much better than expected, given your number of subscribers. I mean that as a compliment - you and whoever you are working with (I see you say “we” in the description box) are doing a great job. I found this video by looking up reviews for this machine.

Thank you, it's my only channel. It's a battle for sure! I have no idea why some channels do well, but their content is rough and ours has taken a while to get going, but I'm grateful that nearly 100,000 people have taken the time to watch our videos. That would fill most arenas 5 times... just confused why such a small number hit that subscribe button! Thanks again for the comment. Peter

Those shots look very short and not even 2:1 which might be why it’s so strong, so check the weights. Puck is being disturbed by that twist while you are tamping and didn’t see the spring compress. You can try tamp (compress spring all the way), short twist to polish if you like, followed by another complete tamp. Whatever you do it should be the same every time.

After several months of using the machine I talked with NInja directly. There are settings in the machine that allow you to somewhat regulate the amount of water that is used. however, I adjusted the qty and was unhappy with the strength of the coffee. I personally like the VERY strong shot as I use the espresso in cold drinks. A less strong shot of espresso makes for a less intense drink and that is not what I am after. If I am drinking just espresso I use my Jura espresso machine. The espresso it produces uses a bit more water and it is more smooth. Thanks for the comment! Peter
@sdcoffeeroaster7 күн бұрын
@@PeterHudsonaz Thanks, how how were you able to set it to less than 2:1 because that is the lowest I see and yields about 36-42g. I know you can stop an extraction early to get less than that, like a ristretto. Yes I mostly make hot lattes and found latte art is pretty difficult with the auto frother even on the lowest settings, just to thick, so I've had better luck with manually frothing. Still an amazing machine....cold drinks when it get warmer, lol.

@@sdcoffeeroaster I have model ES601. There are three volume size options in the setting area - under h04 or h06 I can't remember. You can adjust the volume of water that comes through the machine. Google the model number or contact Ninja for more assistance. They were very helpful.

@@CookingWithPeterOK Yes the 3 levels are 1:2, 1:2.25 and 1: 2.5. So the final at the lowest should be about 36g but always a bit more. That shot glass you are using looks to be half full while I see almost all full in other videos. Maybe you are using an extra large shot glass? At any rate...have a good Christmas and New Year, thanks

Twist the black top part of the tamper to release the spring mechanism for it to tamp correctly if you have not already done so. It looks like you may have, but I noticed there are no instructions that I saw to do it and I noticed a lot of new owners don’t know that it has the spring mechanism 😊 Thank you for the video!

Is there some trick to it? I twisted it both directions 50 times and nothing releases...
@thriving_on_plantz23474 ай бұрын
@@RyanHitchcock821 No, I just kind of twisted only the top black piece of mine while holding on to the bottom until it rotated/spun freely and that released the spring mechanism in the bottom portion of tamper (metal part) mine was stiff at first until I did that. If the black portion of yours already spins then your tamper spring is already activated.

Thank you for making this video. I’m a new user of this machine and have watched a lot of videos. The quantity of my expresso looks to be half the size of yours and others. Is there a way to adjust?
@CookingWithPeterOK29 күн бұрын
Hi Karen, this machine does not produce a lot of espresso, but depending upon the coffee beans used it is very strong . I use Starbucks French Roast that I buy at Costco since my Costco doesn't sell their espresso beans. I have not found any way to adjust the quantity of espresso. If you find a way please come back and leave a message. Peter

I agree with you that this machine does make VERY strong espresso (which is one of the things I love about the machine.) I use the espresso from this machine to make coffee drinks, such as iced latte's etc. The only way to tame this intensity down is to try different coffee beans... maybe use coffee beans that are not as roasted as an espresso or French roast coffee bean. I don't know where you live but one of the smoothest coffees I have ever had is the Illy brand. Their coffees are (in my opinion) the best when drinking straight espressos. The espresso is very smooth. Be sure to get whole bean coffee by Illy as they also sell pre-ground, which will not work. Peter

In reality, espresso is an Italian word when translated means express or quick. The machine expresses the hot water through the coffee beans creating the drink commonly called espresso but the pronunciation can go either way. I am not Italian so I'm not hung up on how the word is pronounced. Peter

Thank you for the informative video! Mine came from Amazon yesterday but haven’t opened it yet. Just out of curiosity, what beans are you using?
@PeterHudsonaz4 ай бұрын
Hi Christopher, I used French roast beans from Starbucks because that's what was on sale at Costco. Costco does sell espresso beans but not in my market. In my opinion, Illy makes the smoothest coffee for regular espresso, but I make a lot of espresso based drinks and I like beans with more of a bite to them for this style of drink. This is why I use the darker roast beans. You'll need to explore and see what you like the best. Hope this helps and enjoy your new machine. I'm enjoying mine. Peter.

Out of all the machine you have / had which ones did you keep? and which one you got rid off?
@CookingWithPeterOK4 ай бұрын
I have the Jura... which is a favorite. I have had the Jura for about 8 years. Use it everyday. My spouse likes the Keurig because it easily makes classic coffee, and we'll keep that one. The Nespresso, to me, is a nice machine but I don't think it's great for making cold drinks as it does not make true pulled espresso. I like the Nespresso more than the Keurig. I have had a couple of Ninja coffee machines over the years and those I have given away to charity years ago. They make good coffee but they are not convenient because they use ground coffee and it's a mess to deal with that for one or two cups. The new Ninja machine makes VERY strong espresso and having the milk frother built in is a plus. I am NOT sponsored by anyone by the way. Peter

What about the dialin' in procedures? You have to make some cups before using this machine regularly
@CookingWithPeterOK3 ай бұрын
Hi Lalala, I have used the machine literally twice a day, every day since I have had the machine and only had to do the 'dial-in procedure' on the initial brew. Now, as I also stated in the video, I am NOT making regular classic coffee in the Ninja Luxe Cafe, and in my opinion, Keurig does a good job with Classic Coffee with less hassle. Personally, I am only making espresso drinks, so I am NOT changing out the beans. If you are changing out the coffee beans to a different style, then yes, you have to do the dial-in. I am not doing this. People can read the manual and decide for themselves what works. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Peter

Watching someone take something out of the box is just boring and I (and obviously thousands of others) want to see what came in the box (which I showed) and a quick intro to the machine (which I also showed.)
