Wonder what Raspberry Pi will be releasing tomorrow? We had the Pico 2w on Monday, CM5 on Tuesday, what will appear on Wednesday?

Hello Jeff! We are designing an expansion board based on the CM5, featuring rich functionalities and ease of use-perfect for makers and developers. We’d be happy to send you a sample for unboxing and review to share your experience. Would you be interested? Looking forward to hearing from you! 😊

Yay! Though I figured that out in the edit, luckily. It was honestly better sounding (mostly) than I had expected, just using a tiny shotgun mic on the camera! The good news is that setup is a little easier to move around, so I may do a few more of these run-and-gun style top-down videos when I get time.

Seems a bit silly to include a heatsink that wont fit in the case with the fan😂 they should’ve created a slim version for this kit, to allow for the fan to still provide active cooling whilst giving the CM5 a larger cooling interface, but still sell the ‘full sized’ version for folks not using this kit

Pi logo’s orientation on the case almost seems like it’s intended to be mounted on the backside of a TV. May be you could drill some VESA holes…

Or as I like to call them "speed holes"!

Hey Jeff, would it be easy to turn this into a TV streaming device (linux+kodi)? I guess obviously you need that additional port board.

The the fan really stay on when you press the power button?
@Level2Jeff2 сағат бұрын
It did in this case, because there's no OS flashed on the CM5 yet. Once you put an OS on there (or boot of NVMe, or USB, or microSD on Lite models), then it should stop the fan when it's not needed, and only ramp it up a little as needed, until it's maximum under heavy load.

@@Level2JeffThanks for clarifying, I am quite happy what RPi Foundation been cooking these past few years.

Where is the slot for the GPIO ribbon cable to come out of the box? Pinching the cable between the bottom and top case cover, is not the right way to do things. Where is the program/Run button. instead of a jumper on the main board? The position of the fan means you can't put anything on top which might cover the fan. It kinda sucks for a development system tbh. One would be better off buying the motherboard for $25 and design and 3D print their own enclosure. I suspect this i what will happen, Tngiverse will have lots of different designs by next year.

Does the USB-C power input on the carrier board still only support 5V?
