Got this box set a while ago and have been very impressed, the albums sound great as we as the 7" of nobody rides for free which was very nice to be included. And all of the extras were nice cool and appreciated too.

I read recently somewhere that the new Dr.Feelgood vinyl boxset is Crue´s best boxset, like the ultimate Motley Crue experience. My personal reference point for boxsets is David Coverdale´s reissues of various Whitesnake releases from Slide It In and onwards. I have them all on CD, minus the unplugged one, and I love them. Absolute perfection they are.

This set was more a replica of the og covers and inner sleeves, so thats why some are blank, i believe. Correct me if wrong

"Out of The Cellar" is great, but "Invasion of Your Privacy" has always been my fav. Ratt album. Marianne Gravatte is the model on the cover, she was in the "Lay it Down" video as well. By the way, "Crystal Heart" is THE BEST Tawny Kitaen movie, check it out if you get the chance.

If you want a killer box set for your show check out the Ozzy Blizzard of OZ/ Diary of a Madman anniversary box set, it's fucking sick! You get both Vinyls pressed in super high quality, cd's DVD, live shit, 2 full sized posters from the tour eras, the metal cross necklace that Tony Iommi's dad made for the band when Ozzy was in Sabbath and a badass book full of photography. It's the best box set I've ever purchased.

Ratt were always one of the best in the genre. Maybe even THE best. The songwriting/playing was always just so damned solid and hooky, with a genius for constructing albums where the flow and order of tracks worked so well. Even a lot of what are considered B-sides were worthy of radio play and imo many of them could have been hits if they had been marketed better. Just a great, great band. Personally, I think it's a crying shame (shame, shame 😆) they never quite managed to hit Cruesque Feelgood levels of success. They deserved it. This is a super nice box set though, and a pretty f***ing sweet collection of tunes/extras!

I always argue with my buddies ..if you took the technical abilities of Def Leppard and the Ragged Sleeze of Motley , you would be left with Ratt . I still lean hard to Detonator as my favorite record. My favorite movie as a kid , Weird Science ( John Hughes ) , featured Wanted Man ..

Motley probably doesn't sign off on shit anymore. For whatever reason after fighting for decades to get their masters, their publishing, and all that shit... They made the genius decision to sell their whole catalog the way I understand it. Not that it would matter anyway. From everything I've heard from them lately they're completely creatively bankrupt now anyway. Sucks to say because they were my favorite band from 84 all the way up til they put out that garbage generation swine album. Gotta admit though, shout is my favorite MC album... But my second is the 94 album with Corabi. I think that album got the rawest deal of anything to come out in the 90s .. it still holds up today just as good as the day it came out.

It’s so hard to rank the albums of the 80s … I love detonator but I always wonder what it would’ve sound like if BEAU HILL produced it 👀 I’m surprised you put dancing undercover behind detonator!! Dancing is so sexified but still heavy! But also I would put Invasion over Cellar 😶😶 Cellar is coming from the EP rough style vibe but Invasion has the vibe but more polished and sleazy tone to it … but it just led the way to pure glam Dancing .. and All bands in the late 80s left the glam look for bluesy bar look like Reach .. but then bands went like hard rock leather again in early 90s as Detonator… but RATT IS SUPERIOR

I picked up the RATT boxset on release even though I own the whole catalogue on vinyl. Very impressed with the quality and items included. If you wanted to be picky, it’s a shame the EP couldn’t have been included. As for Mötley, loved them to death through the 80’s heyday, but im steering well clear of the Feelgood set. Feels very lazily thrown together and for the price I’ll stick with the original vinyl.

I have a few other box sets that might be worth checking out, Winger's atlantic years box set is pretty good, not as many extras, but it comes with an extra album of some of the demos from that time period, and a very well done booklet of behind the scenes photos and the making of the albums and songs. And i also have the motley crue 'crucial crue' box set which is way better than the dr. feelgood one you reviewed. Sadly no extras with it but it's much better in quality, and comes with some neat colored vinyl.
