3:13 - Dura-Ace weight includes chainrings....Rotor was weighed without rings.
@Demon09-_-7 жыл бұрын
thechosendude yep ends up not being so impressive of a weight
@smalerider17277 жыл бұрын
470g 110 bcd, 160mm, 3d+ cranks. Using Rotor chain rings adds 132g per set as per their website. And this thing has a power meter in it, and is likely bigger than my cranks. The dura ace has no power meter bits in it.
@cup_and_cone7 жыл бұрын
Smale Rider - New Shimano 9100P with built-in meter (Left & Right) is anticipated to only add 60-70 grams; keep in mind 9100 will also be about 15 grams lighter than 9000. Likewise, Stages only adds 20 grams if someone really wants lightweight. Lastly, Shimano still uses 24mm spindles, which give you much more flexibility for different BB standards/framesets without needing specialty Rotor brand BB (Rotor BSA30 runs about three times the cost of Shimano).
@smalerider17277 жыл бұрын
There is no reason to run a Rotor brand BB. People do this because its never stated that Rotor 3d+ cranks are made to the bb386 evo standard.
@golferchin767 жыл бұрын
Recently I built a S works Tarmac with eTap groupset, Rotor 2inpower and compatible chainrings. Shimano 9000 Di2 would cost a lot more, heavier. In the power meter department Shimano is not as praised as Rotor. If you have the money to build a bike with Dura Ace 9000 mechanical or electronic you want the best power meter. The 9100P remains to be tested. Stages sucks.

Fun fact for you guys on why there's a little red bit at the end of the crank arm. Every year before the kona ironman, the "Kona count" takes place, during which the number of different brands of equipment used, including power meters, are counted. Rotor's power meter was hard to identify from a distance, so they added the red bit to help it stand out.
@anders0777 жыл бұрын
I bought the 2InPower during cyber Monday and been riding it with Qrings, it's clearly the best power meter I have tried!

I went to CABDA last week for my shop. Rotor was there and I got to try these out. Holy smokes was I impressed. The data it produced was incredible and being able to orient Q Rings using the power meter made using the Q Rings a total treat. As for the weight, I picked them up, and for a power meter crankset with a built-in battery, it was really light. I saw concerns for the way you charge it. The part that plugs into the power meter is magnetic much like a MacBook, and the part that plugs into the outlet is actually just a USB plug you can plop right into the USB power block that comes with every smart phone you buy. I've seen and played around with a lot of different power meters, but this one takes the cake. Granted I haven't seen the FC-RC9100-P yet, and I expect it to be pretty awesome, but I don't anticipate it being a better product than the 2INPOWER. It might be lighter, but why are you worrying about cutting grams at the crank when you could work on cutting kilos off your body. If all you want to do is post a picture of the weight measurement of your bike and show everyone how big your e-peen is, then you have no use for a power meter to begin with and you might as well cut even more weight just going straight to SRAM Red.
@_clemens_7 жыл бұрын
This would be awesome to win...If I don't win: what would be a good poewer meter to buy? It needs to be more or less accurate and cheaper is better :) I'm looking at stages right now, but are there maybe other alternatives? Thanks! (Group is 105 Shimano if important)

@lennartmeinke88617 жыл бұрын
#torqueback So, I have seen so many different places to mount power meters. Are there any differences between the different positions?
@charliefletch20027 жыл бұрын
Lennart Meinke The only difference I could think of is that power at the rear hub is power minus drivetrain inefficiencies, if you only get a one sided power meter for example one crank the powers not going to be that accurate as it's just going to double what your putting out on one leg but this won't work as barely anyone has a 50-50 ratio of power output for both legs
@henrykennedy43667 жыл бұрын
Are all chainrings compatible with these cranks? Or do you have to use Rotor chainrings?
@gcn7 жыл бұрын
hi, providing the chainrings have the same BCD they are fine. thanks
@gwmtnbiker7 жыл бұрын
cadence would be measured by the cyclometer as well, correct?
@dailowhui7 жыл бұрын
Seems that the weight of dura ace includes chainring where this doesn't. So the actual weight of the whole 2inpower crankset with chainrings maybe heavier than expected.

That charging system leaves loads to be desired. The power connection should have been something popular like USB or consider generating power while cycling to charge the battery. The unique plug adapter opens the door to many potential problems. Anyway, obviously I still want it!

The charging port is a USB one side and a magnet in the crank side, we cannot see it in th video but is a lot of easier than it looks like.

@paulgach76067 жыл бұрын
Why not do a comparison of multiple power meters on the same bike? You could have one power meter in the rear hub, one on the crank and one on the pedals. It would be interesting to see if all three match in output readings. Only problem might be if two power meters use the same radio frequency. Love your show! I watch it every day...
