Hey Brandon, I just had the pleasure of meeting Mike, the owner of gator rc in Algonquin ill, I stopped in at their warehouse and purchased the sebart l39 blue angels mini, what an awesome plane! I have to say gator rc is incredible, they have an inventory that's unbelievable, I can definitely recommend to all your subscribers gator rc is definitely top shelf, good luck with your first turbine! I had mine set up with the JP fan, my next one might be the avanti turbine as well, ill Wait to see how you do first! Lol once again good luck!!! Robert

Too cool! That last time someone flew a turbine at our field (Wings of Williamsport) has to be about 20 years ago. You have to bring this with you when you grace us with your presence!

Brandon, I don't think you can use a 6lb turbine to get your turbine waiver. For turbine waiver it has to be at least 12lbs. After you get a waiver you can fly any turbine regardless of weight. Of course that's if you are planning to fly it at a AMA flying site.

That weight is specific to the model not the thrust limit. As per the AMA the model has to weigh 12 lbs dry or be of an ARF specific Lou designed for turbine operation. So I should be ok, I truly appreciate you guys commenting and looking to help me and the community!!!!! Thanks

Wow, I didn't know if it was turbine specific it can be less than 12lbs. I am also getting ready to get my turbine waiver. I will have to read the updated AMA Turbine requirements. Thanks.

Heads up! Those gear door servos, make sure screws are tight. Lost my servo arm screw first flight. Also the small screws that hold wings and stabs are junk. Broke head off even after drilling out holes to correct size. I opted to secure stabs with silicone marine glue and clear tape over joint. Flies great.

Can’t wait to see the jet finished. Question I am going to run a smoke pump in my airplane. Can I run the smoke pump off the ignition battery which is 500mah or have a 3rd battery?

Yeah you can run it off the ign battery. I would always opt for acc to be on one and plane receiver to be on its own. Or two. I would run 2000mah at the least.

I’m enjoying all your tips & tricks! I have a 85” slick with a DA 60 cc engine . The muffler is a can that bolts to the engine and it’s close to the cowling which is fiberglass. There’s about 1/4” clearance between the muffler and the cowling. Is there anything that I can use between them so it won’t blister the fiberglass?

I have not had issues with blistering as long as they don’t touch. When they touch then you have issues.
