The licence is included with the calculator. If you don't want to use the software licence that comes with your calculator, you can use the free web-browswer tool to update your OS, transfer files and capture screen images.

I have another question for you! After filling up the scratchpad or document full of math, and after tapping up with the cursor to locate previously-used equations and whatnot, is there a shortcut key to get the cursor (not the mouse cursor) back to the bottom of the screen? I'm constantly tapping up a bunch of times, then tapping back down a bunch of times 😂 thank you!

Of course you can jump directly to the top or bottom ... or a page at a time. If you have a computer keyboard with a number key pad you will notice that "HOME" is written on the 7 key, "Page Up" on the 9 key etc. Your calculator works the same way. Press Ctrl + 7 to jump to the very first calculation and Ctrl + 1 to jump to the very bottom. Note that if you are in the process of editing a line Ctrl + 7 will jump to the start of the line and Ctrl + 1 to the end of the line ... press Ctrl + 1 again and you will jump to the very last calculation. The same works in the spreadsheet. In the spreadsheet you should also try Ctrl + G then enter the cell reference or line number! Check out our video(s) on Top 10 keyboard shortcuts and also Top 10 Navigation.

@@TIAustralia I knew you'd come through for me... WOW. This is exactly what I was looking for plus more! I apologize I didn't realize you had keyboard shortcuts videos, so I will watch those. Anything to shave off seconds (not even kidding). Thank you so much!

To jump to the bottom of the page (calculator / spreadsheet App ... or scratchpad), try: Ctrl + 1, you may have to press it twice, once to jump to the END of the current line, then again to jump to the END of the current page/application.

Im buying an used non-cas TI Nspire cx so does that mean that I'll have to buy a license for the Student Software?
@TIAustralia
@TIAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
Most likely. If the original owner did not activate their software license and still has the original license card you would be able to install and use it, otherwise, if you want access to the software, you would need to purchase an individual license. Note: To update the OS / transfer files you can now use our FREE Web-Browser tool: nspireconnect.ti.com/#/ We have an explanatory video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4nKeYashtV1npY

You can just use the 'update' option ... it will give you a 30 day trial. education.ti.com/en-au/product-resources/whats-new Follow the prompts for the Software (not the calculator OS). Let us know if you need further assistance.

A couple questions: I've been hunting down for videos on how to charge my CX II CAS because the instructions that come with it aren't very detailed at all. I think one video said if I'm 'not using a TI charging adapter, then I *have* to charge the calculator with the computer. And when you're doing that, the software MUST be open. Is this all true? What about disconnecting the calculator? I see no eject features. Finally, I've charged my calculator several times already (one video said the battery lasts for 2 weeks easily, but maybe my screen is on too bright... the battery drains after only a few days). It no longer shows a battery icon in the top right, it shows a charging icon (even when not connected to a computer) and if I hover the mouse over the battery icon, it says "using external power"... but it's not. I've emailed TI a few days ago and haven't heard from them yet. I may try calling their number. Do you have any ideas though? Lastly, your video doesn't seem to show *how* to transfer files from calculator to computer. That would be neat to know! Thank you for the video!

Charging Options - A TI wall adapter is your best option. You can use your computer also, best to have the software installed to ensure the correct drivers are associated with the calculator. The software doesn't need to be running, You should always check however that the software is communicating with the calculator. (Try taking a screen shot of your calculator using the computer software). Battery Life (between charges) - Sounds like the battery is not getting fully charged, unless of course you are using your calculator a LOT, or you are using Navigator / TI-Innovator etc, accessories that use the calculator's battery to operate. BTW - No need to 'eject' You can also try updating your calculator's operating system to ensure it has the most up to date features and battery management tools. Apologies for any delays with our support team: ti-cares. Let us know if you don't hear from them soon, I can give you my email address. Transferring files: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opzZl6WCgZiAma8 You can also use our web-based tool for file transfers: nspireconnect.ti.com/#/

@@TIAustralia Thank you so much for your reply!! I'll take everything into consideration. I turned down the brightness of the screen a bit (I like it bright though) and I DO use it a lot. I'm in three math-related courses and basically run the Nspire for hours, so maybe that'll explain it. I haven't had time to check my email or call TI today so hopefully soon.

@@EmpyreanLightASMR I am delighted to hear you use your calculator a lot. :-) Happy for high brightness. mine is almost on full brightness too. You can also try the following: Home > Settings > Handheld Setup Power standby > 3 minutes is fine. Hibernate > Probably wont make a difference if you are using it every day. Auto-dim > Try 30 seconds. The auto-dim leaves the calculator 'on' but just drops the brightness. When you are finished using your calculator press CTRL + ON rather than just letting it go to sleep. Lots of high-'powered' calculations can also reduce battery life. For example I can have programs run for 10 to 20 minutes at a time. Compare this to laptop battery life, simple word processing (long life) vs editing videos (very short life!). If you are using the computer software as well, leave your calculator connected to your computer, it will be charging while you study.
