Looking at getting the 5.5 Ferrari press for grapes ... Have heard horror stories on how easy it is to break thr upper section by over tightening the press ... You have owned the item three months and, if you have used it regularly, what is your PRESENT opinion of the press, please

Sorry for the delay in response. We have been using it regularly. I admit that it takes a bit to twist the press down. However, we have not attached ours to a stable surface. I think once we attach ours to a stable surface, it will be smoother. I can see how others may have broken the upper section of the press. We do not overtighten and try to go very slowly as we use it. By doing so, we have not had any issues with it as of yet.

@@kimchirednecks Thank you for the response. We also have apples and pears, as well as the grapes, so went with another item and manufacturer for more volume and (they claim) a reinforced base that can handle the "fleshier" fruit. Will still pre-process before pressing and it should be arriving soon. The claim in comments of the arriving press is it gets 40% more juice; will believe it if I see it. It's also 2 to 3X more expensive, but we bit the bullet.

@katiebea9258 I totally understand biting the bullet for more expensive and hopefully more capable products. We plan to attach the press to a stand and hopefully it will end up being easier to use. Let us know what you think of the fruit press you purchased...we never know when we might have to upgrade. Thanks for the comments
