Note 2= I didn't used any Blur or fast time remaping shit to hide the warps, the mask tracking method always works, but if your clip has a lot of warps then you will also need to do a lot of mask tracking. So make sure your choosen clip is not very complex . Also it's an advanced twixtor tutorial though the first part is about flowframe(flowframe is not advanced tbh). As an addition to your excellent tutorial, there is a script called uwu2x that automates the "average method" : with just a few clicks, you can remove dead frames, flowframes (AI interpolation), and upscale (also AI) your clip without having to leave After Effects.

I got your point, but these scripts runs through multiple layers of optical flow, and this was specially more optimised in flowframe,so that's why I suggested to use flowframe instead of other scripts. I personally tried this script a few days ago(the script you mentioned), but it doesn't work good when there're some 'impect frames'/'shakes'/ 'different movment in body and background'. But yeah if you're choosing a well animeted clip, this script should work good.

Thanks, I've covered almost all the necessary methods. However, there are two more Twixtor features that are no longer as useful since we now have frame interpolation software like FlowFrame.

I just throw it into topaz and use the Apollo model to interpolate every clip to 120 fps. It’s way more accurate than the flowframe models

Thanks there's also another method where you can use alternative colours or motion to track the main layer(and that's the only remaining feature of twixtor ig). But again it's not useful anymore due to the presence of flowframe. anyways bro Thanks for your attentive feedback it means a lot to me💙

instead of using 7 fps, it will have less warps if using 11.988 fps if the animation frames changes after 2 frames or 7.992 fps if changing after 3 frames

The animations were designed for a 23.976fps video, but variable deadframes complicated things. If we directly divide 23.976fps by 2 or 3, it could result in at least one deadframe. That's why I opted for whole numbers like 7fps or 11fps, as even a single missing or extra frame can affect the Twixtor effect.

Yeah you can adjust the time remaping graph depending upon the pace of the video, but the process of getting more frames is same. If you're aware of how many frames you will be needing then x8 is not necessary you can go with x2 too.

Thanks for tut. I found it one of the most useful since i am really struggle to learn twixtor and watching many many twixtor tuts. Ive got a question why your number of fps is 30 in flowframes when anime clips should be 23,976? And in average method when you cut deadframes and import video into flowframes, you can also dont do that and apply twixtor then dont uncheck the mark and do it with values from easiest method. It work for me in good clips for twixtor. I guess its easiest method number 2 ^^

Thank you. So after we removed the deadframes, we can basically select whatever frame rate we want. But in this case, when I Added them inside a single precomp(that precomp took the frame rate of the main comp. But you can change it to a different frame rate if you want, just make sure it's somth between 30,60,90...fps To avoid any keyframe miss match) and because our precomp was 30fps, we need to input 30fps while using flowframe(although fromframe automatically detects it) Basically, when we edited the footage on frame level(deadframe removed), the original anime FPS doesn't matter anymore. All that matters is which fps we used to make the composition, if your main composition is 23.976, then make the other precomp also 23.976. And yeah the process you mentioned was the second easy method, which was already been used by a lot of editors. But i skipped that method to reduce the duration of the video.

Yeah afterall twixtor is just a frame interpolation effect with some additional options. Sadly these features were not much recognised all these years. But twixtor can use masks, points and refference layer for tracking.

@@nanatsu_edit the interpolation model is called "RIFE", it's not necessary to use flowframe to get the interpolated footages, you can use any software that uses the same interpolation model "RIFE". There're also some other alternative interpretation models that don't require GPU, like the one inside "Frame GUI"

@@lyphsi_edits you have to figure out which specific frames are warping a lot. Now you need to add mask-paths in the high contrast part. But pay really close attention to the vortex-points of the mask-path, twixtor will follow those vortex-points to calculate the middle frames. Just remember twixtor is not an AI, it follows a simple math that's finding 2 similar pixels and adding the middle pixal as per the avarage, which means, whenever twixtor makes a warp, it will always be smaller then what it should actually be, therefore you can overlap that specific part with another layer. That's why I overlapped 2 different twixtors instead using just one method for the whole thing. This might a little overwhelming at first, But I'll make another detailed video if you can wait..with more examples.

Twixtor is a 3d party effect, we use it to convert a low fps video to high fps. When we add twixtor before time remaping, there's actually infinite amount of frames and we can time remaping it however we want. Time remaping is just a built-in effect of after effects which allows you to control selected video area using keyframes and graphs. Long story short, twixtor increases fps of a video; and time remaping helps you distribute those frames according to your keyframes and graphs
