If you use a 2x6 for the sacrificial top, you can use the overhang to clamp items down when using a single sawhorse.

Used them two or three times now - they work great! A bit heavy so if you have arthritis or weak fingers it won’t be fun, but otherwise no complaints. I love that they’re adjustable in height for my sloped driveway.

The option to place sheet materials on the side is more intended as a handling aid.. You could probably drop up to an 8x4 sheet on horizontally , the sheet would then be easy to flip up and pivot over onto a bench top made up of two horses.. Makes an awkward job easy

I just came across this product and honestly the ability to cross cut a 2x4 along the length of the sawhorse is GENIUS. Every other style you need to saw horses and clamps and its a whole ordeal to do it safely. The sheet good holder on the legs really got my attention too. Never seen anything like it, and this is 2yrs after this video was posted lol. Idk how i feel about trying to cut a sheet that way but even just for storage its nice. Can use the sacrificial board if its easier laying flat.

You didn't illustrate the importance of the sacrificial 2x4 on top. You don't use that to make a job site table, you put the sacrificial piece on top, screwed in place from the underside of the sawhorse, when you want to cut a piece of plywood directly on top of the sawhorse. Its a method for breaking down large 4x8 sheets into manageable sized pieces. The sacrificial board is there to prevent the saw blade from cutting into the saw horse. The 2x4 gets cut instead of the sawhorse, hence the term sacrificial. Great review though. Thanks.

Nice review. When I looked at these in store they were a hassle to setup and takedown and I sliced a finger pretty good. Lots of pinch points. Guess these aren't for impatient uncoordinated guys like me, lol. I ended up with the Ridgid Lumberjacks. Great review, and detailed instructions on everything these great sawhorses can do. I have both these and the Bora Speed Horse sets. I think they are both great, but unless you are a contractor where time is money, These Toughbuilt saw horses are the way to go. The Boras set up and break down lightning fast, but these saw horses are just packed with features. Hats off to the guys and gals who engineered these things because they pretty much thought of everything. I agree, if you are in the market for saw horses that are going to last a lifetime, then these are the set to get. One last thing, the finish on these things are so nice, I find myself wiping then down after I use them, just because the gloss black is so pretty! Ha.

The video author mentions that he has extended the sawhorses to their maximum height, but does not say what that height is. I bought a pair of these and then returned them to the store because they would only go to a height of 32". Not only is that way too short for me (I am 6'6" tall), but I wanted something that could support long pieces of material when using my table saw which has a height of 36". I noted in this video that it appears the Author is having to stoop (or bend over) a lot as he points out the various features of these saw horses. Also, I noted in the video that these sawhorses are cumbersome to set up, and the plastic handle on the top work surface is subject to wear and eventual failure as they are in contact with whatever material is placed and moved around on top of the sawhorses. After doing a lot of searching for an ideal sawhorse, I spent a few extra bucks (over the cost of these sawhorses) and bought a pair of the BORA Speedhorse XT sawhorses (Model: PM-4550). The height adjusts from 30" to 36", they literally set up in seconds with the push of a single switch/latch which releases both legs at once and locks them into place, and the top carrying handle is not exposed on the top of the sawhorse (but, instead, build into the steel sawhorse case/body). Also, collapsing these sawhorses for storage is as easy as setting them up. To do this, turn the sawhorse on its top (i.e., upside down), open the locking latch on each of the two legs, give the legs a slight push, and they will fall/return back into the case on their own. Either leg can go back into the case first, and one does not have to collapse the cross support that keeps each pair of legs separated - this collapses automatically as the legs fall/return back into the case. Last, but not least, each BORA Speedhorse XT sawhorse will support up to a maximum of 1500 pounds.

The last part showing the side view of the extended clamps should have gone before the front view/explaination, thismis the key feature of this model..don't know if you can edit on the fly and still have the same list, but that is the main question I always get from passer bys when I use these... Also it is basically a Jawhorse as well, I wish they had a manual knob option to tighten the grip vs the levers (keep both but add a knob option). To go to the extreme , they could add an option for. Jawhorse attachment that sits on top , you know like the vice attachment, they a,ready have the platform for it..

I'm on my third set of these in the span of 6-7 years. The first 2 pairs I would always carry in the back of my truck. So they were always exposed to the elements. They would tend to get rusted and "wobbly" after a year or two. On the third pair, when I get home after a job, I unload them from the truck and put them in my enclosed trailer. It's been about a year now on the 3rd pair, and they're doing much better compared to the first 2. So I would say that if you can avoid leaving them outside exposed to the elements (when not working), they will last you a lot longer.

I saw these for like 60-70 bucks here. Seems a bit DIY focused if you asked me - good when you don't have other dedicated fixtures. Most guys pumping out production work will not want something so heavy. Taking a 2x4 and setting it up like that is an extra step. I can also see myself not wanting to harm the mechanism when I spray something on top of this. Kind of like a mobile mitre saw stand, I rather just have a table and a few support blocks. The only mechanical sawhorse type of thing that was ever useful to me was the jawhorse. This is a great and smart design, but it's too fancy for its own good in some ways. Just my two cents.

Kind of on the fence. Saw the TB C700 a while back and was tempted. Although it has a lot of features, I really need to decide if I would actually use all of them. Otherwise, the Bora Speedhorse might be an option, as - deployment is faster - carry handles are built-in and not a strap that can break - order you close the legs doesn't matter - greater load capacity (I think another 200 lbs per horse). With the Speedhorses compared to the c700, you lose out on: - Height adjustability - Use of 4x4 crossbeams (might be moot is the Speedhorses still support more weight). - 2x4 circular saw cut support. Not really sure any of those are dealbreakers for me. Deployment and breakdown speed though... crikey, they're fast. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHq7f3uEiNCfn68
@ruffxm
@ruffxm 4 жыл бұрын
FYI...Bora is more expensive and has a less features. Honestly, how does like 5 seconds in quicker deployment really affect you? Oh, I see...if you multiply it by 10 years you'll save 2 hours.

I have seen a review of the Bora on KZbin on 'Tool Review Zone' entitled 'I put the Bora Speedhorse to the test, and though its impressive is some ways, it has one major flaw' If you put a lateral load on the horse the mechanism bends, and all the clever 'automatic' stuff fails due to stuff getting bent. For me, the Toughbuilt looks the better gee gee.

I will keep those improvements to myself at this point unless I get the $$ for it to help them with my design improvements. Engineering is not Free!

Is it possible to put a board on top of the sawhorse and fix it with a screw clamp?
@UnboxingNStuff
@UnboxingNStuff 3 жыл бұрын
I would say probably not since the side walls are thun sheet metal. If you are using two and have a 2x4 or 4x4 running between then then definitely if you calmp onto the board.

Hey thanks for the comment. So far so good I have used them alot and have not had any real wear and tear. I would definitely buy them again, in fact I am considering buying a third for awkward shaped projects.

The only thing that I am disappointed about with the C700 is the height. I would like to create a jobsite outfeed table with them but they create a table that is too short. Adding a 1/2" plywood top and a sacrificial 2x4 will only bring the height to 34". The ever popular Dewalt jobsite table saw (DWE7491RS) on its stand has a table height of about 36 3/8" give or take. These sawhorses make a table that is about 2 inches too short for the most popular table saw. The Bora can make a table, using the 2x4 and 1/2" ply of about 38" since the Bora Speedhorse XT goes from a more user friendly 30 - 36" height but they do cost much more. I guess you could use 2x6 or something thicker to raise the table to compensate but that would use not very common wood and would make carrying the table around heavier.
