Can I get a straight answer? I want to know how to add games back to the Launchbox program after the drive letter of the original rom path has been changed. I've gone through dozens of videos, none have helped me. It seems Launchbox has a problem recalling where the actual paths are AFTER changung the drive letter. I did all you showed in this video. The program scanned one folder for two hours. Only a handful of my games start up now. It was not like this before. Then on top of that, the program is being selective as to which roms it will start. I paid for this program, and it is now failing me. Please help.

This is a video I needed!!! lol I used to always just remove the entire thing and then reset it up like I was setting it up from scratch... I knew there was a way to just do it easier, and I did it once but I could not for the life of me remember how I did it. lol but now this video is bookmarked and a shortcut stuffed in a folder.

If and when I upgrade to BigBox, I understand it has videos (and maybe music - I don't know about the music). So will I then have to go through this same process to get those videos (snaps) or is that done automatically upon upgrading - or are the snaps being downloaded now and I just don't know it and the player is just disabled? By player, I assume it's VLC. If getting the additional media after upgrading to BigBox has to be done manually, what is the name of that video?

Just like in the video, you may come across file extensions that shouldn't be there. There is a list that LB checks to make sure they're not imported, but it's not fully complete. If you come across any that are being imported and shouldn't be there, don't hesitate to report them to us in the comments, on our forums, or in the BitBucket!

Do you have to have a certain kind of rom set? For instance no intro, regular, tosec? Does it matter or do you have to use no intro sets? I'm just wondering because when I tried to setup hyperspin it was a pain in the ahole to rename a full goodset to no intro sets and crap. Seems like a real pain in the ahole to do this if so. I'd have to re-download all new sets again. Also, it says it downloads the images of the box/cart/videos from the internet to your hard drive. Does this mean you don't have to worry about getting on your website and having to update artwork crap every week? Also I can pick any emulator i want to use and just link to the emulator? I don't have to worry about modules or anything to setup? I'm just curious about this stuff because I was going to use most of the systems if I end up getting the front end and wanted to know exactly what you have to do to set it up. I had a nightmare getting hyperspin to go.

I would suggest that you watch a few of our tutorials to get an idea on how LaunchBox works, like the SNES Beginner tutorial. In short, we do earnestly suggest users get No-Intro then TOSEC (in that order where No-Intro doesn't have a set), for the best quality and it cuts down on crap, but you can use literally anything. The only limiting factor is if the emulator will use the media. You can also use any emulator you want. In fact, you can add literally anything you want to LaunchBox. The Metadata downloader grabs images from the LaunchBox Games Database, which is user submitted and constantly growing, so not every thing is covered (especially for the more obscure stuff), but it's constantly growing. We also utilize EmuMovies as well for more coverage on images, and they provide us with Manuals, Music and Video. Video only downloads if you have LaunchBox Premium and EmuMovies Premium, but you can submit your own video if you don't have either. Check out a few tutorials and our forums (link in the description for the forums), and check it out.

Nice vid Brad. Is there a way to change all the image folders at once in the platform path window?
@SentaiBrad8 жыл бұрын
Sadly, no. The easier solution might just be dropping the images in to the default folders, or just changing the ones you might need.

This feature is useless without an option to set a format filter, let's say for example ps1 games, the best overall dumps are bin+cue meaning launchbox will import lots of duplicates, if you were able to set a filter by platform that wouldn't happen you could just tell launchbox to only import cue files for the playstation platform.
