It might be worth noting that the arrangement of your screens in Display Settings is actually quite important. I had my screens laid out there as they are physically (marquee screen (#2) above main screen (#1)) and because of this BB did not pick up my second screen. The fix turned out to be to position my marquee screen immediately to the right of the main screen in Display Settings.

If you have the marquee it will show the marquee. They only really exist for the arcade games I believe.

I have an LG 25UM58-P 25-Inch 21:9 UltraWide monitor for the marquees and they look great sitting above my Tv. I’ll be using an UltraWide monitor for my arcade cabinet. I’d like launchbox to incorporate a third monitor that we could use to display controls and more specifically fighting game move lists. I’d mount a monitor next to my cabinet if it did this. They could allow us to map buttons to scroll through anything (artwork, manuals, etc.).

This is the easiest Marquee setup I've used in a frontend to date. I do like playing the dual-screen "Punchout, Arm Wrestling & Playchoice 10 games" though so I've been trying to find a way to force MAME to the front on both screens.

I’ve been running a digital marquee for a few years now. It started with Sevenseal and hypermarquee/EDS for hyperspin. It’s a fantastic feature to have on a cab. I’ve been very happy to have it in LB. However, you should be aware that this creates issues if you are running aimtrak lightguns with any of your emulators, including mame. I’ve had to create shortcuts within LB that will disable the second screen when a lightgun game is launched. The only headache is that you have to create these shortcuts for each individual rom.

Is there way to have just launch the games on a secondary monitor? I'm using a crt tv and I would like to have the menus on my monitor and just launch the game itself on that crt tv but can't find a way to do it.

I also would love to install a digital move list on my vewlix cab so more options would be great. I'm already using a 15in square Monitor as my marquee my only problem is the marquee will sometimes cut off depending on the screen res of monitor one this feature is great but we need more custom options available and the option for a 3rd display or more

The second screen works fine when I go in a console to see the game, but it does not show the marquee for consoles on the second screen like you have in this video.. How comes? :(

The good news is that the default Marquee theme should do this already. Marquee views can also be heavily themed as well to make it look like anything you want.

Would it be possible to define what the Marquee Screen displays? I was hoping to leverage a special monitor (ultra wide) to use marque graphics (instead of game boxes). Also, is there a way to allow the Marquee Screen to be overridden by dual-screen games (Punch-Out, Nintendo DS games, etc.)?

Yes to both. The default marquee theme has a number of media fallbacks. It will display video marquees, if it doesn't find one then it fallsback to marquee images, if it doesn't find that, then it falls back to a clear logo/background image... etc... You can theme marquees yourself in any way you like, to display precisely what you'd like to see on it. Are in game marquees limited to mame only? I'm having some trouble getting this to work in daphne, model 2 emulators etc but it works perfectly with mame.

It's not limited to just MAME, but you will want to watch out for emulators that go full screen and change your resolution. This makes Windows change your display settings and could potentially cause the marquee screen to do all kinds of random things.

Marquee's recently received an update, providing more control to the user via the Marquee Image Priority. There's also more control for the Theme Developers to pretty much display anything you want on the Marquee screen.

I bought an extra wide 1920x360 monitor from Ebay that was expensive, but looks really cool. Windows 10 detects it as a 1920x1080 monitor and it only shows the top 1/3rd of the desktop. Marquee images are set to automatically display in the center, so I had to edit the "GameMarqueeView.xml" file and change the "VerticalAlinment" setting from "Center" to "Top". Hopefully BigBox will add more options to configure these types of displays more easily. Exactly what I was thinking, if you used a normal 16/9 screen you could hide the bottom half if the image was at the top of the screen.

So if you don’t want the marquee to be displayed dead center you have to edit the xml file? I was hoping the second screen could be moved around and resized like a regular window. By editing the xml can you be precise with the placement of the image? I am hiding a regular monitor behind a MDF panel and only allowing the marquee to show. I need the image to start about 2” from the top of the screen - is this doable?

@@James-lg8vr I believe the only options are top, center, and bottom for alignment in the xml file. If you need anything more specific than that, you will most likely have to edit your images manually to add some additional padding to the top. Another option is using the app called "Hyper Marquee", which allows you to manually draw the visible display area. I found it to be a bit too complicated to configure though. If you have tons of images to edit, there is a really useful site birme.net that allows you to resize and crop images in bulk to match the dimensions you need.

Bro. Go to the Good Well. They have used monitors for cheap. I got an asus 21 inch for $10 but most monitors in their locations will go for around $30. I think someone screwed up that day. Lol

It's a shame you can't get monitors that are really wide but not tall.... Say, like 19 inches wide but only 5 inches tall. That'd make a really sweet marquee for a MAME arcade. I know blackmagic make something for video editors but it's very expensive.
