Thank you for these amazing video courses. I have watched all of 220-1001 videos. Will 1002 be available in the near future?

We are attempting to release all the 1002 videos that we have done in the next few months. But there is not to many of them left. The course won't be completed, however we have started to work on 1101 following 1102 which we are attempting to get released late next year.

Doesn't d-ram already have heavy use of buffers and registers? The sense amplifiers heavily uses sram registers and the memory control unit looks like it's got a bunch of registers and buffers. Maybe I'm guessing registered memory is memory with the micro-controller to help the cpu memory controller. Kinda confused.

The DRAM chips themselves do. The memory controller nowadays are inside the CPU which is a bit of a distance. The different is that the data from the all the DRAM chips is combined together on the memory module before be transfered reducing the distance. When you look at a memory module, if it has an additional usually smaller chip in the middle, make nine chips. (On one side only) it is combing the data together before transfering it.

One of your video about memory controller has been hidden. Can you open it?

There were some quality problems with that video so it was taken down. Due to the age of that video it is easier to re-do the video rather than correcting the problems. You can find it here if you still wish to watch it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3PPaHuaib-Aars

Is this the same DIMM and UDIMM ?!
@itfreetraining
@itfreetraining Жыл бұрын
UDIMM refers to unregistered memory, while DIMM (or RDIMM) refers to registered or buffered memory. DIMMs have an additional buffer between the memory controller and DRAM. DIMM is faster than UDIMM. However, UDIMM will often just be called DIMM to makes things confusing.

@@itfreetraining I think you mean "UDIMM is faster than DIMM" and not the other way around. Also I think you mean UDIMM will often just be called DIMM to makes things *less* confusing.
