The best Subaru for sand and saltwater is a RENTAL! As fun as it is it really requires a lot of post-drive clean up.

What type of tires do you have? Size?

Wildpeak 245/65/17’s. It’s a 29.5” diameter tire. Really wish I could have got 30s on there. Probably possible with my lift but would take more work and cutting likely.

So you ended up keeping the Forester, how do you like it as far as the CVT goes. Hasn’t given you any trouble? And is there any recovery points up front or the rear end that you can hook up a shackle to?

What's the tires and specs?

Right now I have an Ironman 2” ATS lift on it, Wildpeak 245/65/17s, Thule extended crossbars. Rest is stock. Got 11” of clearance with tires and lift so it gets me over most terrain but it’s no rock crawler ☺️. Skid plates and front bumper will probably be next mods.

1. you using Eco mode or Sport mode on beach? 2. is Xmode useful on beach?

I was not in sport mode but that probably would have been better 2. I actually found x mode to not be that helpful on the beach. Took it out of x mode and turned off traction control and I could spin more and get more momentum.

No I got a full size spare riding in the trunk. It won’t fit in spare compartment. Only if you deflate it and carry an air compressor it might work.
