I really love Naughty Dog's writing, the way they pull off characters in their games and how the whole time these two interacted I was actually smiling, they're believable people. If ND did regain the rights, they can't feature something like twinsanity or mind over mutant because activision still owns those since they made it. So it's possible this is a nod to Nd regaining the rights. And like I said activision haven't used the character in a while and playstation has been ignoring crash till now. But who knows?

Funny thing, it was a very rare occasion but, Crash could hang in the original game. It was a weird mechanic when you missed a jump at a pitfall, but if timed perfectly, and near enough to a ledge, you wouldn't die but hang on instead. Couldn't climb up tho :/
