Not accepting a person's sexual orientation only leads to risky behaviors, it really doesn't help the situation and makes it rather worst. People fear what they don't understand, forgetting to understand something takes a whole lot of patience and compassion. Accepting and loving someone doesn't imply you support their life choices no matter how poor they are, it means irrespective of your flaws you can still be loved because independent of sexual orientation everyone is seeking love and acceptance.
@ajoeannabrown95636 жыл бұрын
In addition to love and acceptance, i think people don't or have a hard time accepting LBGTs in Jamaica because by covering it up it makes someone else less responsible of looking at and questioning their own intrinsic nature. People just don't want to stop and acknowledge their own internal fears and flaws. Thus, why it's easier or seems "rational" to treat others the way they do.

They can't force us to accept their lifestyle and they need to understand and respect that and not force their lifestyle on us straight people. That's why they need to get rid of pride month, because that's the month that they try to force us to accept them. They should take away pride month from the lgbtq community and give it to military veterans (I'm a veteran) because we actually did something, we fought for this amazing country.

While I don't condone Dwayne's murder per say. I must hasten to mention that he was wining on a straight man who didn't know he was a MAN. Dwayne could have caused that man to be harmed in the event patrons thought he was condoning and wining with a transvestite. Had I been that man and straight, I would be mortified to have a gay man trick me in the darkness and to have one touching me in a sexual way that would be both gross and inappropriate. That is unconscionable! Why go to a straight party & start wining indiscriminately. No straight man cares if u look like a MAN but think ur a WOMAN. To him ur a MAN & he would prefer if u wouldn't touch him inappropriately. TBH many gay Jamaicans are exaggerating their situation. Jamaican ppl basically ignore gay ppl for the better part. They aren't dying any more than anyone else nor are they being as targeted as they would like first world countries to believe. Many stories are fabricated and added to all in hopes that a first world nation will offer them "amnesty". Things aren't perfect but they aren't as bad as they'd like foreigners to think. We have come a LONG way and Jamaica is WAY more tolerant than they would like u to believe. The head of JFLAG is alive and kicking and his residence isn't a secret lair. I would prefer if the LGBT organizations were a tad more truthful, told the FULL stories and didn't seem to be seeking fame (via US/international media), funds, visas, citizenships and well wishes. Give credit where it's due. Jamaica has changed towards you significantly! PS - To those of u merely viewing and buying into the "stories" for want of a better word. If god is so all powerful then how can he ever be threatened by anything that we lowly humans can do? The fact is that there is no god.. you can not at all provide any proof that there is and to use any old dusty book to justify the killing and persecution of a certain group is just a vile act.. and if there were a hell i'd hope that those that perpetrate any violent act against any person would go there. But as i am a realist i know that there is no such place and sadly when dead such people will just rot in the ground as the rest of us.. wake up.. and realize that we are all just here to live and all deserve to live a life of dignity and with the person of our choosing be that person of the opposite or the same sex.. love must be the central ideal and what else matters in this respect?
@JesusIsreal7210 жыл бұрын
Homosexuality, no matter the reasoning, is not God's choice in any of His temple bodies. God doesn't act one way, through one of His temples then another way through another temple.. God isn't 'Gay' in any sense of 'Homosexual' for a Reason. If you can't Find there is a God to ask that reason, you can't find reason and so will continue 'unreasonable' into sodomy and other sins; which God 'HATES'. I think people need to wake up and realize that God doesn't care, if you 'don't know Him'. He cares for those who do know him. He shows reason to those who 'hear His voice'. Those of us who have been 'born again'; don't need a book to tell us who God is within us, but God within us wrote that book through men like us; who also were led by God. Our God, whether you believe He exists or not, will judge all who don't come unto the Lamb's sacrifice willingly; to know the Truth of why the Lamb of God was sacrificed. If you don't want to know God, because you have settled on your own objective truth; rather than on His willing faith; you will be condemned unto eternal damnation. Being 'Gay' won't save you. And Lying to other's is baring false witness. To say that because you don't believe God Exists, that everyone should be 'dignified' to live in sin; is a sinful position. Luck doesn't save souls and Christ knows obedience proves our love unto God, not choosing to sin! I don't have your problem see.. I know God. I don't struggle to know God. I Know God. He is with me, in me. He regenerated me from the cross of Jesus the Christ in 1994. I don't need to know God, I know God and He leads me, don't need to seek for new evidences for God, because God proved Himself to me by putting me on the cross with Him (in His son) that Christ, regenerated can live from with me. He knows living out of me, that 'No Gay' can enter into His Kingdom; and being one in Him; I can't but know. I don't have to 'question' nor can I doubt that God hates Sin; and that Homosexuality is sin that bares false witness of God's cause for man.

The buggary law was literally created by closeted gay individuals as a front to seem completely straight. It’s extremely common for individual in positions of power to be two faced. Prohibition laws we enforced by drunks, DEA agents sell seized goods, government break laws etc. the amount of examples are literally uncountable, for ever illegal act there are similar “legal” situations that literally mirrors each other, from tax breaks to incarceration there are identical individuals on both sides.

GoldMedia Tour Jamaica and Feel irie Calling the ignorance card on me is pretty much impossible after your comment. You are just spewing everything anyone can possibly imagine hearing by watching American mainstream media. Mass shootings? We have far less than most countries. Jamaica is believed to have increased crime above all other countries (including all but 4 third world countries) in 2015 (by its own government). America has some of the least discrimination on skin color. Out of every country in the world, the United States has stronger laws protecting the individual against specified groups. We do, however, have some laws that favor minorities in selection via government grants, loans, etc giving easier access to blacks and asians than it does for whites. You clearly have never been to America to think that people hate you for having different skin color. Come here and talk about how stupid mexicans or blacks are, see how many friends you make before people start calling you a racist bastard and stop talking to you. Jamaica has a higher homicide rate, which is pretty horrendous considering how large our countries war on drugs is. Gangs exist in very few cities. Terrorists all over? Now you're just being cheeky. No we don't have any terrorists. (whatever the fuck that means to you). Our TSA examines everyone on and off planes and in 14 years they have never caught a single terrorist. (and they have impressive technology). GDP (in USD Billions): Jamacia: 14.36 United States: 16800.00 You try to argue that Jamacia has less povery than a country where people are literally hundreds of times richer? Our homeless people make WAY more than the average Jamaican. (depending where you live many homeless people make far more than minimum wage here). "Stupid disobedient disrespectful overly sexed kids". The Jamaican government is overly conservative and makes disgusting laws and unforgivable laws and life sentences in jail for non-violent crimes. America has some absolutely terrible laws as well. One day you will learn that you are a person, an individual. This isn't a dick contest. I'm not arguing that Americans are better than Jamaicans. I'm arguing that Jamaicans have a much, much harder life than us, and I sincerely hope that more Jamaicans don't suffer to the mentality that some ignorant blind-patriots have, just like many of us Americans have trouble with.

Of Course I agree with you that America has better facilities put in place for it's people than Jamaica has, Yes our Government Suck. But don't tell me that gays in your country has never experience violence towards them. Laws were put in place to protect your gays and so it will do for ours one day. And bullshit, you guys are one of the most Racist hypocritical nation ever. You hate in secrets and behind mask. Oh and yeah their Great Opportunities here for the people to be successful, a lot of them just lazy and need motivation. We have free skills training centre and a lot of other mediums put in place. Your country may be richer but it's far from perfect, so stop acting as though you live in heaven and many of the violence that are taking place here in Jamaica are learned from American through visits and the media. And Disgusting Laws? lol Jamaica is one of the freest countries in the world. Hope for the better instead of bringing down.

The problem is that the LGTQ wants to make being gay ''good'' or normal. It doesnt accept that its wrong in any way, and abuses the extreme examples of evil to justify its evil. I/e it uses evil ppl killing people for their sin to justify the existence of their sin (which there is some irony there considering that the same people that threaten to kill the gays are probably fornicating and using drugs. So they sin in their on way but they cant let others sin in theirs? Hypocrites!). Jesus died for your sins and shows mercy on you, but he does NOT accept your sin, he still demands Repentance, and Repentance presuposes that your sin, FOR EXAMPLE HOMOSEXUALITY, is bad in the first place.

I had a friend when I was around 11. His name was Ralph. He was the only boy in a family of 4 or 5 girls. His mother worked and Ralph had to babysit. He was like a little mama. I never saw a father. Black women in their quest to find a husband usually fall in love with a man who has no intention of committing. So, the lady usually lose him when she becomes pregnant. Then she meets another man and she soon finds out she's in the same situation. And mostly White people, and the Black men are the ones looking down on her with so many baby daddys. But not the Black women, because the same thing may have happened to them. They understand. So, basically it is the Men who keeps the welfare system up and running, because they won't commit. I said it because it needs to be said. If the Black man would stay and take care of the family he's made there would be no need for the girl to get on welfare!!! Okay, back to Ralph. I went over one morning and Ralph was standing in a chair washing dishes. He was acting like a little mom telling the young girls 'brush your teeth, put your clothes on' etc. When Ralph got older he dated a girl, got her pregnant and she gave the baby to Ralph after finding out he was bi-. I saw Ralph one day...we were in our late twenties. He was very effeminate, very friendly. He told me his son, a teen by now, told him "Dad you need to stop that." He said he would. As we parted he offered to bake me a cake. I never saw him again. And I understand he died a few years after that encounter. Then there was Walter. I hadn't seen him since 8th grade. He was engaged. Some weeks later I bumped into him again. I asked had he married yet. He said, "I couldn't do that to that girl." He confided that he was gay. I don't know Walter's story. And I thought it too personal to ask. I knew he had a twin sister, Shirley. She was very unfriendly and looked very very mean. Now, in Denver I met Dennis. Dennis was a White orderly I worked with who took a liking to me. He told me that when he was 7 a guy in his early twenties pretended to like his sister but was screwing Dennis. Dennis said he had sex with girls 1/2 the yr. and the other half he was with men. I believed he liked men better by some of his statements. I've met others but not on a personal level. NOW TO THE VIOLENT JAMAICANS KILLING GAYS: You need to read Matthews 19th chapter, Yeshua/Jesus is talking with His Disciples about marriage and divorce. One asked "What about men who do not desire women?" He said "Some are like that FROM THE WOMB. Some are like that because of OTHER MEN." REMEMBER DENNIS AND RALPH? DENNIS FIRST ORIENTATION TO SEX WAS WITH A MAN. RALPH'S MOTHER EFFEMINATED HIM BY HIS TAKING OVER A MAMA'S ROLE AT A YOUNG AGE. ANOTHER KID I KNEW, HIS MOTHER HAD WANTED A GIRL SO SHE DRESSED HER SON UP LIKE A LITTLE GIRL. LONG HAIR, RIBBONS, PONYTAILS, DRESSES., THE WHOLE CABOOT! REMEMBER WHAT YESHUA/JESUS SAID. "SOME ARE LIKE THAT FROM THE WOMB, BUT SOME ARE MADE THAT WAY BY MEN!!!!. ??????????????? STOP KILLING THESE PEOPLE!!! YOU ARE DAMNING YOURSELVES BY BREAKING ONE OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS!! YESHUA/JESUS SAID MOSES MADE THE LAWS TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY... AND ABOUT THE WRITTEN DIVORCE...YESHUA/JESUS SAID "IT WASN'T LIKE THAT IN THE BEGINNING. WE DON'T KILL GAYS! WE DON'T KILL DISOBEDIENT CHILDREN! GAYS AND THESE CHILDREN WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE MOST HIGH. STOP KILLING THE GAYS!!!!!

First let me say this .I have nothing against gay people. I feel a person has an absolute right to be whatever sexual orientation they were born with. No one has the right to interfere or dictate to any one who they should or should not be attracted to.That being said however I really hate when dumbass people just flat out lie in a matter that should have been reported in a truthful and straight forward way. The death of the fellow they led with did not happen because he was "gay". It happened because he went to a party dressed as a woman, danced with and kissed a bunch of guys without declaring his sexuality. Quite frankly in my opinion he was asking for trouble and he found it. Now me personally, I would not have killed him but I am sure I would have made sure he think twice before he did it again.The fact is that what happened because of his behaviour would have happened in any country not just Jamaica. Of course there is homophobia in Jamaica but nowhere near the violent and widespread persecution that this article made it out to be.Homophobia is rampant in the US and rampant among those who identify as Christians in the Midwest so don't come here attempting to act as if Jamaica is any different from anywhere else.My uncle was gay. He lived in Kingston in a ghetto section reputedly to be the worse offenders. He was well known and nobody cared. He lived with his boyfriend there for years as a respected member of the community and taught basic(kindergarten) school all his life. So it behoves those foreigners denigrating Jamaica for its"violent homophobia" to actually walk around a bit in Jamaica before forming an opinion and when they do please be accurate in your reporting since you are only pissing off the people who could actually help (like me) with your sensationalism.Now after all that let me be clear. Many parents do kick their kid out when they find out that they are gay. There is no official support centres since the government, Who actually wish to address this issue, cant since they are beholden to their constituents and are political cowards. It does not help when a bunch of foreigners attempt to dictate to Jamaicans how they should react to a cultural shift. What I am saying is play nice don't come with the bullshit attitude of you people are backwards and need to be enlightened because Jamaicans will just dig their heels in and tell, you to screw off. You cacht more flies with sugar than vinegar.

I don't support homosexuality but l love everyone... We should seek other solutions to the situation.. Killing or any form of violence is never an option.. Some of these people are the kindest , nicest , honest people l have ever met and have such huge, beautiful hearts.. l would try to lead them to God instead of discriminating .. God can change anyone or any situation...

Thank you. What you are suggesting unfortunately is also harmful. The only way to help, is to educate yourself. You know you don’t follow the Bible all the way. There is things you know aren’t true in your heart. So why not believe that maybe the Bible was wrong about homosexuality. The isn’t an actual valid argument against homosexuality besides the fact that you don’t find it attractive to you. Which is ok. I find heterosexual sex repulsive so what do I do? Not have heterosexual sex, do I bash people that do? No that makes no sense, it doesn’t take away, anything from me what they do.

I'm Jamaican and just like my self and many other jamaicans we don't believe in the killing of gays, but I am sure that all of you guys do not condone, accept or believe in every way of life on the face of the earth, so I honestly do not see what's wrong with people not willing to accept it....I am totally against killings but obviously not everyone and definitely not most are going to accept the ideas of gays in Jamaica, its just the fact
@CynthiaRhoden9 жыл бұрын
There is still a lot of ignorance where homosexuality is concern in Jamaica, but we have come a far way, it was worse. But regardless jamaica is a wonderful country. I don't condone the Violence, but homosexuality is wrong point blank.

Why is it wrong, in your opinion? Are you lifting this from the bible.. or do you just find it wrong personally? If the first well that is just a weak argument from an old book we all know that is way past its due. If the second could you please explain it to me?
@CynthiaRhoden9 жыл бұрын
The Bible can never get old, if you read it, you will understand. If you knew who God was you would know why it is wrong.
@FreakazoidDK339 жыл бұрын
GoldMedia Tour Jamaica and Feel irie well that is just a factually nonsensical statement... the bible is old, it was made a long time ago and thus is filled with what was thought to be morally sound and good at the time. As you probably know times have changed and we have changed and thus the bible is seriously out of step with what is morally sound and good in so many ways Your argument if i knew who God was i'd know is a cop-out freeing you from the responsibility to seriously consider this issue for yourself. Why is it that you lend credence to anything that a supposed deity has said when the evidence for him is just as good as the evidence for the tooth fairy, the flying spaghetti monster and other silly fictional characters? Why not look at the real issue... look at it from a humanistic perspective.. at least we know that that is real.
@CynthiaRhoden9 жыл бұрын
I don't have an argument dear, the Bible speaks and present and future events. It's contents are relevant for all times because they are scripture, they have change many lives and will continue to change lives. The teachings in them are applied to all those love and fear God and has been a guide for us and will continue to be our guide. Wow! you really compared the Almighty God with the tooth fairy and other things man has made up?. God is not a supposed Deity, he is real and alive. He as been my rock, healer, my guide and my father. You need to get to know him for yourself. I am sorry for you because you are carnal minded and will never understand spiritual things, because of selfish desires to please yourself, even if it's wrong.
@FreakazoidDK339 жыл бұрын
GoldMedia Tour Jamaica and Feel irie No, thank you... I don't need to know god... I must say that i agree with Richard Dawkins... in the following quote “The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. And as i whole heartedly agree with Christopher Hitchens' sentiment [religion] "It makes ordinary moral people, compels them, forces them, in some cases orders them do disgusting wicked unforgivable things. There's no expiation for the generations of misery and suffering that religion has inflicted in this way and continues to inflict. And I still haven't heard enough apology for it." Yes you can be damn skippy that i compare the Christian god with the tooth fairy and other equally unsubstantiated fantasy creatures What are your feelings about the gods of other religions? What is it that is said of people that assume things with no evidence.. ? How do you know that i am carnally minded... How can it be selfish to please yourself? It has very little to do with other people.. it takes nothing away from others to do so.. And FYI i am not gay if you think that.. I just think they should be able to live free of the bigotry of others as their sexuality is a personal thing for them and an issue for them and their partner. With regard to my spirituality well that really has to do with feelings and how we see stuff that is intangible doesn't it? I don't need a supernatural element to it... I can be filled with joy from natural things, the natural beauty of a small child, its laughter, a sunset and a beautiful encounter with another human being.. and i still need no supernatural nonsense to occupy my life the real world is enough.

For all those who support this way of living you can call me homophobic, old fashion biased, outdated, or you may even go as far as criticising the bible especially the Old Testament, personally I don't care, but what I know is that God is TRUTH, and this world has turned away from the TRUTH which is God, for a lie.
