@@KyleKringle i 1000% agree. she supported miles the same way in itsv but since he was only ABOUT to go into his arc in the first movie her advice made miles feel like he was trapped, only because he had no faith in himself and he was practically alone with like 3 secrets that makes him feel completely isolated from everybody else. until peter b shows up. but after his first arc, self esteem completely re-contextualized rio’s role in mile’s life. shes the one who tells him he’s good enough. she builds him up even when she knows he’s keeping secrets from her. thats unconditional love, she wants him to thrive in every endeavor. that makes me think of when hobie says “thats a bloody shame” regarding mile’s supportive parents, because “they didnt prepare you for everyone else.” i think in that moment not wrong, but he isnt completely right either. i think thats EXACTLY what they did. miles stands up for himself. EXACTLY like his mom said he should do in a situation eerily similar to the one he found himself in with miguel. i love hobie brown as much as the next guy, but i dont think his advice here specifically applies to miles. because hobie is assuming here that mile’s parents coddle him. but they light a fire under his ass, they love him, but its tough love and a demand for authoritative respect, which isn’t something he’s always got, which is every teenager ever. but their lessons literally teach miles that he is capable and smart, but not driven in the right way that would be helpful to EVERYONE in his world. thank the writers for expanding on her. i just know he was thinking of his mom and dad when he took his power back in the train chase. he became iconic, because him mom told him he could. he defended her baby, for himself, for her. thats what she asked of him. just like aaron told him too, he will keep going, and keep doing his own thing. i personally didn’t feel that we got enough peter b and mayday in atsv, but i am happy with the few things we did get. that scene in that steampunk room during the chase but before the train was really touching, but since it was so short it leaves you wishing they had gotten more time to talk and that they weren’t at odds, ik in beyond tsv we are getting more, of course, but i wish his arc was more on screen. the switch at the end does make sense though because of who peter b is. if this man believes in one thing, its miles (and mayday of course), before even himself. so much so, that he was INSPIRED by miles to go for mj, which is the reason for mayday existing, and THEN peter b in the VERY last scene is inspired by gwen who was ALSO inspired by miles (and hobie and jess drew). it literally stemmed from the love and faith rio, jeff, and aaron instilled into miles. so, miles believes in himself because others believed in him, and then others believe in themselves and also him because miles believes in himself. its so real. i have had a few paradigm shifts in my life because of the arc miles had in his first movie, and this second movie blew the lid off. i love everything about this movie. also starting the next movie with miles with himself and his uncle from 42 is going to be such a cool plot line. we really dont know how its gonna pan out and it is SUCH a smart choice. SPOT is an eldritch cosmic horror. he inspires so much fear and commands so much impressive and creative power; and the beauty and chaos new form is enthralling, also his arc is from such an understandable place. if i lost everything, including my own personal security, and it was all because of the actions of some cocky kid that doesnt care about me and completely underestimates me (miles) and then suddenly i realized that i happen to now be a multiversal god one might feel a bit of comeuppance is in order, however spot takes it too far and really becomes evil when he says “our future.” also (last thing) daniel pemberton was incredible in this movie. i legit listen to the soundtrack of this movie on my own time, and i am beyond excited to hear his work for beyond. i’m absolutely obsessed with this movie, and not for no good reason; but i know you understand. trilogy is something special.

I think the best comparison is to say that peters Jefferson Davis is Miles' Uncle Aaron. Not someone who puts the main character on the right track but someone who locks them in on that track. Them failing to save someone who they could've saved motivates them to defy the odds and save everyone the next time.

6:22 It's also racist reasons that many don't think Miles is Spider-man. Basically any version of Spider-man and Spider-woman is hated heavily hated for being a Spider-man that's a marginalized person. That's kinda important to mention as well cause fandom racism is a very real thing.

You know the last part with the "you worship your children, yet you have no faith in them" hit me like a truck for a different reason During quarantine when I had no friends, no faith from my parents, and stay at home doing work routine during the first two years of my highschool the only reason I kept going was because I had some faith in myself and wanting to meet better people than the people I was with during middle school, yea it was tough Yea im in a better place now that im close to doing college now, but now theres more problems that require their own solutions like how to make friends that I can be fine with making it more personal than just being friends I only talk to or make jokes with at school physically, how to find that faith again for being responsible for myself for college and when I move out one day, and learn how to do it myself even when my siblings who already moved out are there to help me step by step on how to be responsible for myself I may be in a better place now but is it really when I have to relearn how to have faith by myself for a different obstacle even when the instructions are visible?
@KyleKringle Жыл бұрын
College is what I had just left when the Lockdowns hit. All that community, all that friendship, to then leave and be left alone at computer. Then COVID happened, leaving me also jobless for a time, and if I hadn't been getting married that year, I don't know if I would survived it. Persona 4 also helped, but that may have been excellent timing on Atlus's part to release on Steam when it did. Either way, all I'll advise is such: stay connected, especially when you part from university. The "World" is just people, and it is not good for people not have the World.

I was on the verge of crying by the end of the video, I didn't expect this to be so emotional by the end of the video, given the hilarious joke at the beginning of the video. Edit: I made this comment before the part where you said your having a baby. Just wanted to say congrats! (Also, if you're secretly a Spiderman, don't make your baby a web shooting thingy-do, and don't bring your baby to any fights like Peter did.)

Thank you for making this video. I’m a young man so I can really relate to Miles in a lot of these scenes about living up to the great expectations we and others set for us. You’ve truly done a spectacular job articulating Miles’ journey and the people who made him so great not only as a Spider-Man but as a man. Thank you, thank you so much for sharing this wisdom with me, you truly are a gift.

The thing about Miles is, he still loses Aaron in the same pattern and circumstances as Peter, Aaron was maybe a criminal, but he never wanted Miles to be like him, he fully just as much Jefferson did: that Miles was someone far better than him and his Father and that he's gonna be so much more. In conclusion: Miles is Peter if he had a FAR happier life instead of a neutral one like he had for most of his life

Big congrats my good sir, have to say thinking of how different Miles's story is to the "usual Spider-Man" leads into some interesting questions leading to across the spider verse part 2. One thing I want to say though is that the title of this video made me think it was some theory video instead of the discussion of what is the "uncle ben" moment
