I love the tonality in general, but that low string!! Way more bass response than I imagined there would be. Wonderful!

Yeah, it's surprising how much bass response comes from that tiny guitar with the goatskin. I suspect the original guitar with it's wooden top and gut strings didn't have nearly that much bass, and a typical 5-string banjo doesn't have that extra low string, so a standard banjo doesn't get those notes at all. I have made banjos with that extra low string, and though it can sound great, there's a unique quality to this one with the enclosed guitar body adding air resonance. I have to focus on playing in such a way that the bass doesn't overwhelm the treble.
