If you searched for this, you know good music, and maybe relate to the lyrics. Just know you aren't the only one alone out there if you feel lost. GOD loves us both, it's a miracle that I am here and a miracle that you took the time to read this and like it. Keep on keeping on, keep the wolves away.

I just wanted to take a second and let you guys know how much this song means to me. Even before all the craziness happened, this song was always on me and my brother's drinking playlist. I work in the oil field on a drilling rig. And he was a pipe fitter or an outfit working the refineries in Houston. My baby brother was killed last year in a refinery in Houston. An accidental poisonous gas release. When you talk in your song about breathing the poisonous fire. That's literally how he was taken from us. We played this song at his funeral. And I still listen to it when I want to really get into my feelings and remember and think about him. I'm not going to lie. It's hard to make it through the whole song sometimes. I've spent my whole life, and my brother gave his life, trying to keep the wolves away.

My parents were split but my dad busted his ass to provide for us. It didn’t come to materialistic things, just provided everything he could. As I got older I noticed the sacrifices he made and all the things he did for us. Broken homes are sometimes better than shit households. My parents were horrible together and it was better when they separated. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of households with only one parent in the picture anymore.

Dude people died super easy before the current era so most kids before modern medicine, safe travel, less wars, safer food, safer childbirth, etc. grew up with 1 or neither of their parents. It's really not as big a deal as people want to make it out to be. You're fine with 1 parent or a blended family because it's how most of human history has operated. George Washington had step-kids for crying out loud lmao, this country was founded on it.

My father passed before I was 3 and my mother at 16... The only one to take care of us is my uncle. He fought like hell to keep the wolves away... I'm in my 30s now and he lives with me with no charge or complain. He fought ... Now it's my turn. Besides he's an amazing cook. My girl even enjoys him being around. The fight is worth it. My dad missed his dad dearly, he always played this. My dad was a hard working man he would always talk about his job, he did it all for his kids. He worked his everyday job and was offered extra hours at some event grounds and he happily took it. It was a red full moon night at 12am when he finished, he chose to walk the little ways home. On his way home he was in a hit and run... August 2 my life changed forever. I miss you so much dad. I love you.❤ you were the hardest working man ever. You were so proud of what you did. 😢

Heard this song on “Yellowstone” just minutes ago. For 37 years my late dad worked at that chemical plant (Dow Chemical) where the muddy Brazos spills into the Gulf of Mexico. I’d say our Daddy successfully kept the wolf away from the family. It’s been cancer that claimed 3 from our family with only 2 of us still left here.

I used to be daddy's girl, then as I got older and started dating I brought the wolves around and my daddy didn't like it too much, he disowned me and I spent years thinking that he gave up on me, he didn't he tried and when it was my turn/ my part to keep them away I let them in and my daddy felt like he failed at teaching me, but daddy if you ever read this just know that I understand now that I'm older, you had my brother and your girl and her two kids to keep the wolves away and didn't want to compromise that bc of me. So I'm very sorry dad and I love you with all my heart, I can't wait till the day we finally start talking again cause I miss you so fucking much daddy!! ❤❤❤

We ran out of overtime, and the wolves got us. No matter what side job I had, it wasn't enough pay and/or hours. Homeowner insurance bill came due ($4300). My daughter is 14 and doesn't understand just how much sacrifice it takes to keep the wolves away. I never really understood my parents' sacrifice until I reached my 40s.

My Dad was born in 1913 and he died in 2008 at the age of 94. His mother died when he was five and his father when he was eight. He was raised by his maternal grandparents who were very poor. He quit school at thirteen and went to work to help them make ends meet by working in a shirt factory. Later he worked in a soap factory. At around twenty, he got a job with a crew building a road through his small southern Indiana town. By the time he was twenty-two he was running a crew of his own. He met my mother in 1942 and married her a week before leaving for Army basic training. He eventually went through Officer Candidate School and eventually attained the rank of 1st Lt. He was being mobilized to deploy to support the invasion of Japan when the bomb was dropped and the war ended. He left the Army in 1946 and moved to help my Mom’s father on his farm. My Grandfather died suddenly in 1950 and my Mom and Dad took over the farm. There wasn't any thing my Dad would'nt give a shot on the farm; cattle, hogs, chickens (1000 layers at one time), truck crops, such as tomatoes, turnips, and cabbage. We had seven acres of strawberries at one point. Dad cleared fifteen acres of woods and scrub ground by hand. He would throw nearly 100 pounds of feed on his shoulder and walk a half mile through the snow to feed hogs. Later, in the '60's, he and Mom rented the farm out and he sold insurance. He became one of the top salesmen in the company. He traveled all of Iowa and Illinois and would leave Monday morning and get back on Friday. He and Mom built a new house in '66. He got into land development and nearly lost everything due to several unscrupulous partners. He and Mom then got into Section Eight Housing and built four projects for the elderly and low income families in small towns. That saved them. We had started running the farm again in the early '70's, and Dad would plant or combine all day well into his '80's. He never stopped busting his ass to take care of us. I'll never be the man he was.

My pops was smashed by a log in a sawmill. (Safety guards were not being used to increase production.) He survived several heart stoppages but spent months in traction. Took him two years to get workman's comp. He had to borrow for two years while the state played its silly ass games. It's not right, folks.

@@MaddiBerry-ti9fp 1) Safety first. 2) Wages second. 3) Profits somewhere after. 4) Bureaucracy, last. Finally, to those governmental entities, insurance companies, big pharma, et al, with a role in this disgraceful treatment of those whose hard work, broken bones, and busted bank accounts allow you to be rich beyond what the working class could ever imagine, kindly GFY. America is broken because of ass clowns trying to increase profits or hold political positions. My best wishes for your dad's safety. Bless him and you.
