I'll be 72, but somehow I missed most of Neil's early stuff (50 yrs?!), but after living all that time and hearing it these last few months (I can't get enough of it), makes it seem like the first time and MORE in your face because I've lived those things and I understand it SO much more ... maybe I needed to live it in order to understand it. Neil was just wise earlier ... something I wish I had way back then. My life didn't turn out awful, but I wish I had been more mindful and wish there was a way to get a re-do... 🙏🌞☮️❣️

I cannot believe there can be any negative comments about this video. HOW can anyone hate on Neil Young? He is hands-down the most prolific singer-songwriter-musician of my lifetime. He CARES about the planet. You can disagree with his politics all you want, but you can never question his integrity and his honesty. To quote Uncle Neil: "Throw your hatred down." This man is a treasured musician, to be enjoyed - and he will be, for decades and centuries to come. If you can't appreciate Neil's music - go find yourself a Beyonce or Taylor Swift album. Which they won't be playing 50 years from now. But they WILL be Neil's body of work. 'nuff said

We all lay down and watched the most amazing light shows while listening to the intro bands, waiting for CSNY to play. It got real quiet.... then this high pitched clear voice... "Be on my side baby 🎶 .... (Down by the River song) and I sat up completely melting inside. That was Neil and I had fallen deeply in love with his voice. I had been to Woodstock just before he joined CSN. To this day, I still love listening to their songs. AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND PROFOUND BLEND OF TALENT 💎💜💎

Well, there are definitely some good younger hippies. My 31 year old son has always been one. I do get a little perturbed when the young hippies think that they are the first to come up with stuff like awakening. I will give them credit for the term "woke" though. :)

The way he has evolved his music over the DECADES and still manages to touch so many is a testament to the brilliance and talent of Neil Young. Not to mention his conscious awareness of humankind as a whole eg wearing a shirt of the Australian aboriginal flag in this vid

Still has those beautiful guitar solos on the great Powderfinger. What a song. Bassist Billy Talbot comes in with the spooky ooohhs. Drummer Ralph Molina and Billy lock into the song’s groove while Young just keeps soloing. Young is telling the narrator’s story with his guitar as much as with his voice: The solos are beautiful but inexorable, a reminder that fate can smash you in the face like a shotgun shell. Not even a great versions but love it.

As I grow older, and in to the twilight of life, I will pass on some of the things that I feel I have learned of value. And I pray that for generations it will be known that one passed through the metric we know as time on this Earth, and that he left a footprint of genius that will forever be known, felt, and loved, as Neil Young. Amen

Neil Young is proof that every kid practicing in his garage can have fun with a guitar. Go ahead pick it up grab a few of your friends and go out to your parents garage, Don't be afraid to turn it up. Do it for Niel..................

After I moved out of my mom's house in 1982, I asked her if she would mind if my band came by to practice in her garage one Saturday afternoon, as none of had any cash for our usual hourly-rate rehearsal studio.. She said sure, if we didn't play "too loud". Big 3-car garage, the acoustics were quite nice. We plugged in and began working on a new song for us, Neil's "Cinnamon Girl". The drummer was a monster, we had to keep turning up the amps just to hear ourselves over his relentless pounding. We went through it a few times, and had it nailed. It sounded fantastic. Next thing you know, mom is at the inside door to the house, tears running down her face. She screamed "The neighbors 8 doors down just called and are threatening to call the police if you don't stop!". Well, it was a short practice, but sweet. Nice to know we were able to traumatize all the stuck-up assholes in mom's entire neighborhood. "Cinamon Girl" has always held a special place in my heart ever since. Sadly, we were never allowed to return... Hehehee

The sound is a slightly monotonous, but is has become part of the hypnotic charm of the late career sound of this genius. It is like meditation. So yes, F***** Up and even Cinnamon Girl sem to me somehow played in a slower, relaxed, moody, tempo, while the Opening Number is… PURE POWER. Thank you Neil, for whispering, shouting, singing and even praying to my ears for almost 50 years.

Neil Young wrote the songs and played the soundtracks of my youth. Every song on certain albums resonate in my soul. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After The Gold Rush, American Stars And Bars, Time Fades Away, Harvest, Zuma. One of the true great true rock legends who guided me trough times with LSD, psylocibine, pervetine, coke, benzedrine, dexedrine and so on. Those were the rocky seventies.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse is really the true meaning of rock and roll. It doesn't get any better then this.
@mindheartsoul12192 жыл бұрын
You say that is if there were an understood meaning of rock and roll. Neil Young is a brilliant poet but he still sold out and I'm disappointed. These songs are the pinnacle of his creative Legacy. I appreciate that without lying to myself about what he's become. Sometimes an artist has to know when to pack it in when they're only producing hearsay.

@mindheartsoul12192 жыл бұрын
@@BenneWill as an example of what you're asking me.. Explain why You feel he didn't? honestly that would take a Chapter or so I'm speaking for myself the way I see things. the evidence exists to support it. This is not the Forum. Dave McGowan weird scenes inside the canyon is a good place to start to get over the delusional flower child idea we have about the origins of the age of Aquarius. Neil Young was an outstanding poet, musician, singer. But he lost the higher spirit he approached it from in the early days. It showed up in the lowbrow choices he made in his personal life as far as how he treated the women. And I say this as a person, not a "feminist". No one's perfect - and I'm thankful for what he gave of the best of himself to the world. But I hear the difference in the music from Visionary to Not.
